Ive been stressing out about this for like three weeks now and my wife legit thinks Im crazy for spending this much on a car but I really want that S63 engine and the CPO warranty is a non-negotiable for me since I dont want to get stuck with a massive repair bill in a year. Im in North Jersey and looking to pull the trigger by the end of the month before my current trade-in value drops any further. Right now Im torn between two specific listings I found online.

Option one: 2022 Marina Bay Blue X5 M Competition at a dealer about 40 miles away. It has 27,000 miles and they want $104k for it. It looks totally mint and has the Bowers & Wilkins sound system which I really want.

Option two: 2021 in Donington Grey with only 14,000 miles for $98k but its a bit further out in PA.

Both are CPO but the 2022 feels more modern for some reason. I'm worried the 2022 has too many miles for that price but then the 2021 is older even with lower miles and I dont know if the suspension is more harsh on the older ones. Is the extra $6k worth it for the 2022 just for the color and the sound system or should I play it safe with the lower mileage 2021? I keep going back and forth and I'm scared I'm gonna miss out on both if I don't decide like tomorrow...

So I finally did it and got a 2024 BMW i4 eDrive35 but I'm honestly way out of my depth here. This is the first time I've ever bought a car that wasn't like 10 years old and I'm kind of freaking out about keeping it clean. I've been driving an old Corolla for a decade and it was basically a lost cause but this new car has the Oyster interior - the really light white-greyish one - and I'm already envisioning my kids or even just my own muddy boots from hiking ruining the whole thing in a week. I live up in Oregon so its basically wet and gross for 8 months out of the year and the dirt here is that kind of sticky clay that never comes out of fabric.

I've been trying to research floor mats but I am so confused. Like I go on Amazon and search and there are so many options but I dont even know the difference between a floor mat and a floor liner. Some look like they're just flat pieces of rubber and others look like they have walls on the sides? Is one better for keeping water off the actual carpet? I saw a few people mentioning brands like WeatherTech and TuxMat and something called 3D Maxpider but they all look so different and the prices are all over the place. My budget is probably around $200 at the most because I already spent way more than I planned on the car itself.

I also heard that electric cars have different floor shapes because of the batteries under the seats or something? I dont want to buy something and then it doesnt fit because the hump in the back is different than a gas car. The dealership guy was trying to get me to buy the official BMW ones but they looked kind of thin and were really expensive. I just want something that looks decent but really protects the floor from mud and spilled coffee. If anyone knows which ones are actually the best or easiest to clean for a total beginner please let me know. I'm getting the car delivered in two weeks and I want to have them ready to go the second I drive it home...

I finally did it and picked up my first ever BMW X5 yesterday and honestly Im still just sitting in the garage staring at it lol. Its the most beautiful thing Ive ever owned but now Im terrified of actually using it and ruining the inside. I know this sounds super basic and I feel like such a newbie asking but I have no clue what I actually need to buy to keep it nice or make it better?

I was looking online and there are all these floor mats and some say weathertech and some say OEM and I dont even know what OEM stands for really... I think it means from the factory? My logic was that I should get the rubber ones because I live in Seattle and its basically always raining here and I dont want my muddy boots to ruin the nice carpet. But then I saw these back seat covers for dogs. I have a 70lb Golden Retriever named Cooper and he sheds everywhere so thats my biggest worry right now. If I put him in the back is he gonna rip the leather with his claws? Are there specific brands that fit the X5 perfectly or do I just buy a generic one from Amazon?

Also what about the screen? Its so big and shiny and I already see my fingerprints all over it and it makes me a little crazy. Do people put screen protectors on car screens like they do for phones? That might be a dumb question but I saw one in a YouTube video and it looked okay. I have about 600 bucks left in my car fun fund for this month so I gotta be smart with what I pick first.

Oh and I saw these little M color clip things for the inside center console and even for the key fob? Is that considered tacky? I dont want to look like I dont know what I'm doing even though I totally dont. I just want the car to stay looking brand new for as long as possible. What are the absolute must haves that you guys use every day? Should I get a trunk liner too or is that overkill? I feel like I'm overthinking this but I'm just so excited...

So I finally took delivery of my i4 eDrive40 in Portimao Blue yesterday. It is currently sitting in my driveway in Seattle and I think I've spent more time just looking at it than actually driving it so far. Coming from a 2012 3 series, this thing feels like a spaceship and I am honestly a bit terrified of scratching something or ruining the interior already. I'm mainly using it for my 40-mile daily commute but I have a road trip down to the Oregon coast planned for next month so I want to get the car fully equipped before that happens.

I’ve been doing some digging on what people actually buy first and I keep seeing mixed reviews on the screen protectors for that huge curved display. Some people say it’s a must-have because of fingerprints but then others claim the glare is awful and it ruins the look of the dash, so I'm really torn on whether to bother with that. Also I've been looking at floor mats because it rains constantly here in Washington. I saw a bunch of people recommending TuxMat over the OEM BMW ones because they have better coverage, but I’m worried they might look a bit too industrial for the i4 cabin? I want it to be protected but still look like a premium car.

My budget for these initial add-ons is around $600 and I definitely need a center console organizer since that storage area is just one deep hole where my keys and wallet are gonna disappear. Does anyone have specific recommendations for a good trunk liner too? I'm gonna be throwing my wet hiking boots back there and dont want to ruin the carpet. Just curious what you guys actually use daily and what was a total waste of money. I'm especially looking for stuff that fits the interior vibe without being too clunky...

So I finally got my hands on a new M3 after saving up for what feels like forever and honestly I am so lost. I keep hearing people at the car meets talking about performance accessories and mods but I have literally no idea where to start or even what that really means for a car that already feels so fast. My logic was that since it is a BMW it would already have all the best parts but everyone says I need to change things?

I was looking at some websites and saw stuff about carbon fiber intakes and different exhaust setups but it all looks like a different language to me and I am kinda scared of breaking the warranty or making it sound too loud for my neighbors here in Raleigh. I have maybe 3000 dollars put aside for this right now and I really just want it to feel a bit more special for my weekend drives through the mountains but I dont want to ruin the car because I dont know what I am doing. Is it better to start with tires or something under the hood or maybe those wing things people put on the back? Sorry if this is a total noob question but I really dont want to waste money on things that are just for show if I can actually make the car drive better...

Just got the call that my i4 is arriving this Friday which is way earlier than the dealer said and now im panicking because my garage is basically a disaster and i have zero charging gear ready yet. I spent all night looking at stuff and i saw people saying the Wallbox Pulsar Plus is the way to go because of the app but then others say the official BMW Wallbox is better for integration whatever that means and it just makes it harder to choose. Im totally confused if i actually need to buy a separate cable too or if the one that comes with the car is enough for daily use or if it will just wear out the port if i keep plugging and unplugging it. I live in an old house in New Jersey so it gets freezing and i dont want to be messing with stiff frozen cables every morning if there is a better weather-rated option. My budget is roughly $1100 for the whole setup not including the electrician costs.

A heavy duty hook or some cable management thing so it doesnt trip me

Maybe some kind of rubber floor protector

A specific NEMA 14-50 adapter if i dont go hardwired

Is there anything else that is absolutely essential that i might be forgetting before the car shows up in 48 hours? I really dont want to be stuck using a slow wall outlet for weeks...

I've been checking the official BMW used car locator and AutoTrader daily for like three weeks but it feels like a ghost town. I read online that there should be plenty coming off leases now that people are upgrading to the iX but every time I find a listing it is either already gone or the price is way over my 45k budget. I'm in the UK and need this sorted before my current car goes back in 20 days or I'm stuck taking the train to Bristol for work. Is there a better site to look at or am I just looking in the wrong places??

What are the actual must-have performance accessories or parts for a BMW M3 if I want to make it faster or handle better? Sorry if this is a super basic question but I just picked up a 2022 M3 and I honestly have no idea what I'm doing yet. It's my first time owning anything this powerful and I feel a bit out of my league looking at all these forums.

I keep seeing everyone talk about stage 1 or stage 2 and intake systems or exhaust setups but it all sounds like a different language to me. Like do I need a new exhaust to actually see a difference or is that just for the sound? I'm based in SoCal so I don't want anything that's gonna get me in trouble with smog or the cops but I have about $5,000 saved up to spend on some upgrades over the next few months.

I mostly just drive it to work and back right now but I really want to try taking it to a track day at Willow Springs later this year so I want it to be ready for that. Should I be looking at tires first or like a computer chip thing? Or maybe those carbon fiber bits? I dont want to waste money on stuff that doesnt actually do anything for how the car actually drives. Is there like a standard list of stuff most people do first or should I just leave it stock for now?

Ive been looking for an M3 for like six months now and honestly Im just about to give up because everything I find is either marked up $10k over MSRP or its a used 2022 with 15,000 miles that theyre trying to sell for more than the original sticker price like who actually pays that?? My logic was that maybe the market would have cooled down by now since the interest rates are so high but it feels like dealers in the tri-state area just dont care at all and theyre holding out for some whale to come in and pay the market adjustment fees.

Im looking specifically for a G80 M3 Competition xDrive because I need it to be my daily driver and handle the snow here in New York but every time I call a dealership they tell me theres a 12-month waitlist unless I want to buy one of their executive demos that has been driven into the ground for $95k. I was thinking about maybe looking further out like in the Midwest or even down South and just shipping it but then I worry about not being able to see the car in person or getting hit with hidden fees once I get there.

My budget is pretty firm at $88k-ish because I dont want my monthly payment to be basically a mortgage but every deal I see online turns out to be fake once you actually talk to a human. Here is what Ive tried so far:

called every dealer within 100 miles of NYC

checked the forums daily for private sales

even looked at M4s even though I really need the four doors for my kids

Is anyone actually seeing anything reasonable out there or are we still in this weird bubble where M3s are treated like gold bars? Im honestly so frustrated because Ive wanted this car since I was a kid and now that I finally have the money saved up it feels like the goalposts just keeps moving further away. If anyone knows a broker or a specific dealer that isnt doing markups or maybe has an allocation theyre trying to move fast please let me know because Im close to just going and buying a CT5-V Blackwing instead even though my heart is set on the BMW...
