As soon as a brand says it fits a Model Y, the price jumps through the roof for no reason.

My biggest gripe is the compatibility stuff... half these companies claim they're custom-fit but they still feel like they're gonna snap your glass if you tighten a bolt too much. Really makes you second guess the whole thing.

Dont even get me started on the wind noise. Spend a few hundred bucks and it still sounds like a jet engine is strapped to your head. The parts wont fit if you mix them up. For your $900 budget and rainy climate, ABS plastic is usually your best friend because its impact-resistant and wont corrode like some cheap metal bits might.

Maxton Design Front Splitter V.2 BMW 3 G20 M-Pack

This is a front lip that bolts to the bottom of the bumper. It is made of thick ABS plastic. Pros: Very durable and gives the car a much meaner stance. Cons: It sits low, so you gotta be careful with steep driveways or you will scrape it.

M Performance Style Rear Diffuser Gloss Black G20

This replaces the plastic trim around your exhausts. Going with a gloss black finish instead of the stock matte grey makes a massive difference. Pros: Direct clip-in replacement that looks factory. Cons: Getting the factory clips off can be a pain without a plastic trim tool.

BMW M Performance Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler G20

This sits on the trunk edge. Pros: Genuine carbon fiber doesn't peel in the sun or rain. Cons: It is pricey compared to plastic replicas, but the fit is perfect. Installation for these is pretty straightforward DIY. Use a lot of 3M VHB tape and maybe some self-tapping screws for the front lip. Just make sure the surface is bone dry and cleaned with alcohol before you stick anything on. Happy to walk you through the install steps if you get stuck later on.

I just got a pre-owned 2021 BMW 3 series like two weeks ago and I love it but honestly it looks kinda boring sitting in the driveway next to my neighbors car. I think theirs has like extra bits on the bottom and the trunk? I don't really know the right words for this stuff so please bear with me because I am totally new to the whole car scene. I see people talking about diffusers and lips and stuff on these groups but I have no clue what is actually worth buying or if I can even install it myself without messing up the paint.

My budget is probably around $900 for now and I really want it to look a bit more sporty before my brothers wedding in October since I am driving some of the family around. I live in a place where it rains a lot so I dont want stuff that is gonna rust or fall off after one big puddle. Is there like a starter kit or something for people who dont know what they are doing? I just want some simple things that make the car pop a little more without looking like I tried too hard. What are the best things to start with for the outside of the car?

> I really want to avoid that 'cheap' look, so I’m looking for accessories that match the Audi aesthetic. Building on the earlier suggestion, I actually found the Audi OEM stuff to be a bit of a letdown lately. Unfortunately, the material quality didn't justify the markup, and I honestly think some of the third-party brands are doing a better job with the fitment these days. It reminds me of when I tried to equip my old wagon for a cross-country move. I was so stressed about the cargo space that I forgot to pack my own hiking boots. Ended up having to buy a pair at a gas station in the middle of Nebraska, and let me tell you, hiking in cheap boots is a mistake you only make once. The blisters were the size of quarters and we still had twelve hours of driving left... anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.

Just saw this thread. Before I give my full two cents, are you planning on tracking the car or is this strictly a daily driver? Knowing your total budget would help too. Honestly, I am very happy with a conservative 18 inch setup. It works well and I have zero complaints about durability or noise. If you want reliability without breaking the bank, here is what I recommend:

Look at Enkei Raijin 18x8.5 wheels. They are lightweight, strong, and usually run about 300 dollars each.

Pair them with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 225/45R18 tires for the best safety and grip.

Stick to a square setup so you can rotate the tires and save money in the long run. Going to 19s just increases the risk of blowing out a sidewall on a bad road. 18s are the sweet spot for me.
