I just picked up my 2024 Canyon AT4X and Im honestly kind of losing my mind trying to figure out what to bolt on first. I have a trip planned to Moab in like three weeks so I dont have much time to decide and I have about 3k saved up specifically for this. The truck is already beastly but I dont want to be the guy who gets stuck or bashes a rocker panel on day one.

So I was thinking about starting with a winch because the front bumper is ready for it but then I look at the prices for a Warn Zeon and it eats like half my budget instantly. My logic was that a winch is the ultimate insurance policy but then I started looking at the 589 Fabrication hidden winch mount vs just getting some high-end rock sliders first. The stock ones are okay I guess? But they dont seem as beefy as the aftermarket ones from Victory 4x4. Im terrified of hitting a ledge and crumpling a door because the factory steps didnt hold up.

Then there is the whole bed storage situation. Im torn between the Leitner Designs rack and a simple Decked system. If I go Leitner I can carry more recovery boards and fuel but it adds so much height and wind drag on the highway drive out there. If I go Decked I lose the bed depth but keep things dry. I keep going back and forth because I want to be prepared but I also dont want to make the truck too heavy and ruin the Multimatic shocks performance since that is why I bought this trim in the first place. My wife thinks I'm overthinking it but I just dont want to break a 55k truck.

Is it better to spend the 3k on pure recovery like a winch and some MaxTrax or should I put that money into better underside protection even though the AT4X has the factory skids already? Im worried the factory ones are just thin stamped steel and wont hold up to the rocks out west. My head is spinning trying to prioritize this stuff before the deadline... what would you guys actually prioritize for a first desert trip?

Finally got my Hummer EV SUV after waiting forever and honestly the interior feels a bit cheap for what I paid. I was looking at those center console organizers on Amazon but people keep saying they rattle like crazy or dont fit the 2024 model year right. I'm also really stressed about the white accents on the seats because I have two goldens and live in a muddy part of Oregon. I saw some talk about seat covers but everything looks like a cheap baggy mess that ruins the cool stitching. What are people actually using to keep this thing from getting trashed without making it look like a farm truck?

I finally took delivery of my Hummer EV SUV last week and honestly Im still getting used to the sheer size of this thing. Im planning a trip out to Moab in late September so I need to get it trail-ready pretty fast. Budget isnt a huge issue since I already spent a fortune on the truck itself but I dont want to buy junk. I saw some guys online talking about the factory recovery points being great but I'm worried about the weight. This thing is like 9,000 pounds and most of the standard recovery straps or kinetic ropes I see on Amazon are rated for way lighter rigs like Tacomas or Wranglers. I also read a bit about the underbody armor and whether the stock plates are actually enough or if I should look into more heavy duty aftermarket skid plates for the battery pack. Its a bit confusing because most off-road advice is for vehicles that weigh half as much.

Should I be looking for specific EV-rated recovery gear or will the standard heavy-duty stuff work? Also are there any must-have interior storage things for that massive frunk? I feel like everything just slides around in there when I'm driving... what are you guys actually bolting onto these things before you hit the dirt?

I keep hearing people talk about PPF or ceramic coating but I dont actually know what those are or if they are worth it?

So I just got this 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate and honestly it is way nicer than I thought it would be. Like too nice. My brother in law wants me to go on this camping trip out near Moab next month and I am kind of freaking out because I have never really taken a truck off the actual paved road before. I know the Denali is supposed to be the luxury one so maybe I bought the wrong version for this? I dont know. I was looking at stuff online and people keep talking about lift kits and winches and recovery boards and honestly I am totally lost. I have like 5000 dollars saved up to make it look cool and actually work but I dont even know what I need first.

My logic was that I should maybe get those metal bars on the bottom so I dont smash the fancy paint on a rock but someone told me those are called rock sliders and some are just for looks and some actually protect the truck. I have no idea how to tell the difference. Does the Denali Ultimate even have room for those with the steps that fold out? I dont want to break the motor that moves the steps if I try to change them.

Also what about the tires? The ones on it right now look kind of smooth compared to the ones I see on the trail trucks. But if I get big knobby tires is it gonna ride like a tractor on the highway? I still have to drive it to work every day. I also saw some people talking about skid plates and I am worried if I hit a big rock I am gonna puncture something important and be stuck in the middle of Utah with no cell service. I dont want to be that guy who has to get rescued on his first trip. Sorry if these are really basic questions I just dont want to ruin my brand new truck before the first payment is even due. What are the absolute must haves for a beginner who just wants to survive a weekend in the dirt without breaking everything...

Just picked up my 2024 Sierra 1500 Elevation in that titanium rush metallic color and man im stoked its my first brand new truck ever like seriously first one with under 10 miles on the dash and I wanna keep the bed looking fresh but actually functional cause I plan on using it for more than just grocery runs. Its got that short bed and I'm already planning a bunch of trips this summer.

Ive been doing some digging online and everyone keeps talking about Line-X being the gold standard for spray-ons but honestly the idea of someone sanding down the factory paint on a truck I just signed my life away for makes me a little nervous plus I heard it can fade or get chalky after a few years in the sun and I live out in Arizona where the heat is just brutal. Then I saw the BedRug stuff which looks really cool and easy on the knees since we do a lot of camping and I might sleep in the back sometimes but I worry about it getting soggy or smelling like mildew if I throw wet gear in there after a weekend at the lake. Some guys on another forum were saying the velcro on those doesn't hold up in the heat either so thats another thing.

My budget is around 700 bucks maybe a little more if it's really worth it and I really need to get this sorted by next Friday because we have a trip planned up to the Mogollon Rim and I dont want my gear sliding all over the bare metal and scratching it up the first week I own it. I looked at the drop-in plastic liners too like the ones from WeatherTech but people say they trap water and rust out the bed over time so now I'm just second guessing everything lol.

Does anyone have a favorite setup for their Sierra that actually stays looking good but can handle some abuse? Should I just bite the bullet on the spray-on or is there a better middle ground I'm missing...
