So I just picked up this 2011 Jaguar XKR and I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. It's the most expensive thing I've ever owned and I'm kind of terrified of breaking it but I also want it to sound a bit meaner and maybe go faster? I keep seeing people talk about pulleys and remaps on other sites but I dont really understand what any of that actually does to the car. I'm in Orlando so it's super hot here all the time and I'm worried about the engine overheating if I mess with it too much. My budget is like 3000 dollars right now and I'm hoping to get some stuff done before a big car meet next month. Is there like a starter kit or something for people who aren't mechanics? I just want it to feel a bit more special when I take it out on the weekends. Are there any accessories that make the interior look less like an old mans car too? Sorry if these are really basic questions I just really dont want to ruin the engine by buying the wrong parts from some random website. What are the best first steps for someone who has literally zero experience with car mods but wants their XKR to be a bit more beastly?

I finally got my delivery date for my Cyberbeast next Thursday and honestly im kinda freaking out because I booked a trip to Moab for the following weekend. I live in Phoenix so I'm used to the heat but the terrain out there is totally different and I dont want to be that guy who gets stuck or ruins his truck on day one. I've been looking at the official Tesla shop and that light bar looks cool but its expensive as hell and people say the installation is a nightmare. I also saw the Unplugged Performance stuff online but it seems like overkill for a first-timer or maybe I'm wrong? I'm mostly worried about the essentials like recovery gear and what kind of air compressor people are using since the built-in one is okay but maybe not fast enough for airing back up 35s in the sun. I have about 3 grand left in my budget for this month to gear up.

recovery boards (Maxtrax or knockoffs?)

better jack for the weight

maybe a roof rack but will it kill my range?

I've seen so many conflicting videos on YouTube about what actually fits and what is just clout chasing. Since this thing is so heavy I'm paranoid about the standard gear not holding up. What are the absolute must-haves I need to order today so they get here before my trip? Like what is the stuff you actually use every time you go out?

So I finally took delivery of my i4 eDrive40 in Portimao Blue yesterday. It is currently sitting in my driveway in Seattle and I think I've spent more time just looking at it than actually driving it so far. Coming from a 2012 3 series, this thing feels like a spaceship and I am honestly a bit terrified of scratching something or ruining the interior already. I'm mainly using it for my 40-mile daily commute but I have a road trip down to the Oregon coast planned for next month so I want to get the car fully equipped before that happens.

I’ve been doing some digging on what people actually buy first and I keep seeing mixed reviews on the screen protectors for that huge curved display. Some people say it’s a must-have because of fingerprints but then others claim the glare is awful and it ruins the look of the dash, so I'm really torn on whether to bother with that. Also I've been looking at floor mats because it rains constantly here in Washington. I saw a bunch of people recommending TuxMat over the OEM BMW ones because they have better coverage, but I’m worried they might look a bit too industrial for the i4 cabin? I want it to be protected but still look like a premium car.

My budget for these initial add-ons is around $600 and I definitely need a center console organizer since that storage area is just one deep hole where my keys and wallet are gonna disappear. Does anyone have specific recommendations for a good trunk liner too? I'm gonna be throwing my wet hiking boots back there and dont want to ruin the carpet. Just curious what you guys actually use daily and what was a total waste of money. I'm especially looking for stuff that fits the interior vibe without being too clunky...

So I finally traded in my old Tahoe for a 2023 Envision Essence and I love the car but the trunk space is definitely a transition for me lol. I took a trip to Costco yesterday and everything was just sliding all over the place every time I took a corner and it drove me crazy. I spent a few hours looking at options last night and I saw that official GM collapsible organizer on their site but it looks kinda flimsy for what they want to charge for it plus I read one review saying it makes getting to the spare tire area a total pain because of how it hooks in.

Then I checked out those WeatherTech CargoBlocks but I'm worried they wont stick well to the factory carpet or might leave marks after a while. I really just need something that stays put when I'm driving around these Seattle hills because my groceries are getting smashed every time I go home. My budget is probably max 100 bucks since I just spent a ton on the car itself and I really dont want something that looks cheap or rattles. Does anyone have a specific brand they use that fits the Envision floor perfectly without sliding around or blocking the under-floor storage too much? I really need something that can hold like three or four bags of heavy groceries without tipping over...

This is my first electric car and my first brand new car in like ten years so I feel like a dinosaur trying to figure out all the buttons and screens. Its honestly a bit overwhelming how much tech is in there and I have no idea where to start.

We live in Seattle so its already raining and I realized today that I dont have any floor mats or anything and the kids are already bringing mud in... I have about 500 dollars left in my budget for some extra stuff but I dont even know what I need or what people usually buy for these things. Do I need seat covers since the seats are that weird vegan leather stuff?? Or like organizers for that giant space between the front seats? I feel so dumb asking this but what are the actual must-have things I should get to keep it nice and maybe make it easier to live with everyday?

I really want to protect the floors before the kids ruin them completely so if anyone has tips on what brands actually fit this specific car let me know cause I dont want to buy the wrong thing...

So my R1T Dual-Motor finally got its delivery date for next Tuesday and I am literally vibrating with excitement right now lol. I have been watching every single YouTube video I can find on this thing for months and now that it is actually happening I realized I have nothing ready for the inside. I live up in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle so the rain and mud are basically a personality trait here and I do not want to ruin that nice interior the second I step in with my boots.

I have been doing some digging on floor mats and I am stuck. I saw that Rivian sells their own all-weather mats but then I read on some subreddits that they dont have the best coverage specifically around the dead pedal area where a lot of gunk tends to fall behind the mat? Then there is the 3D Maxpider Kagu ones which people seem to love for the fit but honestly in the pictures they look a bit too much like fake carbon fiber and I am not sure if that clashes with the vegan leather vibe. I also looked at TuxMat but they look almost too fancy? Like I am going to a gala instead of a trailhead and I am worried about how they handle real muck.

Then there is the whole center console situation. That space is huge but it is basically just a giant empty bucket. I saw some plastic inserts on Amazon and then some 3D printed stuff on Etsy but I am worried the 3D printed ones will warp if it ever actually gets hot here or just feel cheap and scratchy. I really want something that makes the space usable for my sunglasses and coins and maybe a spot for my phone since the wireless charger is apparently hit or miss.

I am mainly looking for:

solid floor mats that actually trap water and dirt

a center console tray that doesnt rattle every time I hit a bump

maybe something for that weird open space under the main screen

Budget-wise I am trying to keep the whole interior setup under like 400 or 500 bucks if possible. I am mainly using this for taking the kids to soccer and then hitting the trails on the weekends so it needs to be tough. What are you guys actually using day-to-day that doesnt look like junk after a month? Is there a specific brand for the organizers that fits the Dual-Motor layout perfectly or is it the same as the Quad?

I’ve been running Subies for over a decade and usually just stick with better tires and maybe some skid plates but I took my new 2024 Wilderness out to the San Juan Mountains last weekend and honestly the factory setup felt a bit limited on some of the rockier trails.

I am trying to keep the build under 3k for now since I just bought the car. Should I look into a mild lift even though it has the factory 9.5 inches or just go for better rock sliders first because I almost smashed my rocker panels on a ledge near Silverton.
