What are the absolute dealbreakers I should be checking for on a high-mileage Lexus ES? I'm finally looking at a 2010 ES 350 with like 170k miles on it for my new daily driver and I'm honestly so hyped to finally get something comfy. I read online that the 2GR-FE engine is basically immortal but then some forums mentioned this crazy expensive oil leak from the timing cover that requires pulling the whole engine out and now I'm stressed. How can I even tell if thats starting? I've only got about 8k to spend total so I cant afford a huge surprise repair right after buying it. Is there anything else besides the oil thing I should look at before I hand over the cash next Tuesday?

I need something reliable for a new job in Irvine starting in three weeks but every dealership website in SoCal makes my head spin. My budget is around $35,000.

I heard Lexus is good but what does certified pre owned even mean? Is it actually safer than a used car from some guy on the street? I was looking at places in Cerritos but I'm scared of getting ripped off. My logic was that a big name place is safer but are they mean to people who dont know stuff? Who is actually honest around here?

So I finally pulled the trigger on a 2024 Lexus RX 350 in that beautiful pearl white and I am so hyped but also terrified of ruining the floors since I have two messy kids and we live in a muddy part of Oregon. My logic was that I need some heavy duty protection immediately before our big road trip to the coast next month. I am torn between getting the official Lexus all-weather liners or going with the WeatherTech FloorLiners HP. The OEM ones look more Lexus and have the logo which is cool but the WeatherTechs seem to have way better coverage on the sides and I heard the Lexus ones are kinda thin.

Then there is this third option I saw on a Facebook group called TuxMat which look super high end like they belong in a luxury car but I dont know if they are actually durable or just for show? My budget is like $400 max for mats and maybe a console organizer because that center bin is just a bottomless pit lol. I was thinking maybe the JDMCAR organizer from Amazon just to keep my sunglasses and keys from flying around but idk if the fit is actually good or if itll rattle around while I am driving. Basically trying to figure out if I should prioritize the rugged look of WeatherTech or the sleekness of the OEM stuff for a car this nice... what do you guys think holds up better against spilled juice and mud?

i spent way more than i planned on the car so i dont have a massive budget left maybe a few hundred bucks for now. i see all these cables on amazon and im just so lost. i keep seeing things like:

j1772 adapters

cable organizers

heavy duty extension cords

weather seals

do i actually need any of that or does the lexus come with what i need? sorry if this is a totally basic question i just really dont want to break anything or have a dead car on saturday morning. what accessories are actually essential for home charging this thing?

So I finally got my 2024 RX Hybrid last week and I am honestly already panicking because I chose the Macadamia interior which looked great in the showroom but now that I actually have my two kids and our golden retriever in there it is a total nightmare. I feel like I am constantly yelling at everyone to not touch anything and it is making me hate driving my new car. I need to get some serious protection before we head out on this road trip to the mountains in ten days and I am totally stuck on what to buy.

I have about $500 or $600 to spend right now and I am torn between a few things. First off for the floor mats should I go with the WeatherTech HP series or just stick with the Lexus OEM all-weather ones? The Lexus ones look nicer and have the logo but I heard the WeatherTechs have better coverage on the sides which I need because my son literally dumps half his juice box every single time we get in the car. But I read somewhere that some mats might block the hybrid battery vents under the back seat? That sounds like a disaster if it overheats the battery.

Then there is the cargo area for the dog. I am looking at the Canvasback liners because they seem to cover the back of the seats too which is huge for when I fold them down but they are so expensive and I am worried they wont arrive before we leave. The other option is just a cheap generic hammock thing from Amazon but those always slide around and look like trash in a luxury car. Does the Canvasback actually stay put with the Velcro on the Lexus carpet or does it ruin the fibers over time?

I am also thinking about getting a ceramic coating for the leather seats like Gtechniq or something but I dont know if I should just buy those neoprene seat covers instead. I really want to keep the luxury feel but I also dont want the seats to be stained blue from everyone's jeans by next month. Should I prioritize the high-end custom liners like Canvasback and WeatherTech or is the OEM stuff from the dealership good enough?

I saw some people online saying to check private sellers on Facebook Marketplace to save on dealer fees but honestly every listing I see looks like a scam or the car is totally trashed.

My logic was that a 2017 or 2018 would be down to like 22k by now but everything I find within 100 miles of Dallas is closer to 30k even with 100k miles on it. I need this car by next month for my new commute and my 25k budget is getting me nowhere. Are there specific regions or maybe certain sites Im missing that arent just the big corporate ones?
