honestly fed up with these local listings i swear people just lie for fun at this point. ive been looking for a clean e350 or maybe a glc300 for like three weeks now and every single time i go to look at one in person its a total disaster. last guy told me the car was mint and i drove two hours out to jersey city just to find out the engine was making this weird clicking sound and the clean title he mentioned on the phone was actually a rebuilt one from a flood. like why even lie about that? you know im gonna check the vin man.

im trying to stay under $25k and i really need to find something by the end of the month because my current honda is literally leaking oil onto my driveway and the transmission is starting to slip so im on a bit of a clock here. i just want a reliable daily driver that wont leave me stranded on the parkway but looking through craigslist and facebook marketplace is just making me depressed. its all scams or dealers pretending to be private sellers who then tack on five grand in fees the second you sit down in their office.

where are you guys actually finding legit cars these days? i looked at bring a trailer but everything there seems way overpriced or like a collectors item and i just need a normal car for work. are there specific sites that actually verify the sellers or at least have some kind of protection? i dont mind paying a little more for peace of mind if it means i dont have to deal with another shady curbstoner in a parking lot at 9pm. someone told me about shift or carvana but ive heard mixed things about their inspections lately and i really want a benz that was actually taken care of by the previous owner. what websites are actually worth the time for a used mercedes that isnt a total lemon...

So I have been staring at this empty spot in my garage for like six months now and I finally decided its time to find a project. Specifically looking for a 70s Merc, like a W114 or maybe even a W108 if I can find one that isnt totally rusted out. I have about $9000 saved up specifically for the purchase, which I know isnt a ton for these cars nowadays but I am looking for something that needs work—nothing that runs perfect right away.

I have been looking at Bring a Trailer pretty much every day but honestly the prices there are getting insane even for the no reserve stuff and I dont want to pay a huge premium just for the site name. Then I checked out Hemmings but most of those cars seem too nice? Like they are already restored and that kills the fun for me. My logic was that there might be some smaller, more specialized site for old Benz parts and projects that I am missing. I also checked out the PeachParts forums but their classifieds seem a bit slow lately.

I am in the Seattle area so I have to be careful about rust and I really want to find a site that actually has people who know these cars selling them. Should I stick with the big auction sites and just wait for a deal or is there some hidden gem site specifically for old Mercedes projects that I havent found yet? I really want to get started before the winter really hits so I have something to do in the shop...

I finally saved up enough to get my dream car and honestly i am so hyped to get into a Mercedes E-Class maybe like a 2019 or 2020 model. Ive been driving my beat up 2008 Civic for like ten years now so this is a huge upgrade for me and I cant wait to actually have heated seats and a car that doesnt rattle when i go over 60 mph lol. I am based in the Atlanta area and my budget is strictly under $32,000 because I need to keep some cash for insurance and maybe a little maintenance fund just in case.

I spent all last night looking at Carvana and people say its super convenient because they deliver but then I saw some horror stories on reddit about registration taking forever and the prices being like 3k higher than market value so now im second guessing that whole thing. I also checked Autotrader but there are just so many listings from random tiny dealerships that look kinda sketchy and I dont want to get scammed or buy a lemon. I really want to find a clean one-owner car before my sisters wedding next month so I can drive it up to North Carolina. Where is actually the best place to find a used Mercedes for sale where I wont get ripped off?

Where the heck are people actually finding clean classic Mercedes SLs these days because I am honestly about to lose my mind searching for one online. Ive been scouring the usual spots like Bring a Trailer and Cars and Bids for months now but the bidding wars are just insane and it feels like everything is being sold by some high-end dealer who marks it up 50 percent immediately. I tried Facebook Marketplace too but its just full of scams or cars that look like theyve been sitting in a swamp for twenty years... honestly so frustrated with the whole process.

I am super excited to finally pull the trigger on an R107 though, specifically looking for a 560SL if I can find a decent one. I have about 28k saved up and I really want to find something by late August so I can actually enjoy the top-down weather here in San Diego before it gets weird. I just want a solid weekend cruiser that isnt gonna fall apart the second I drive it off the lot. Are there any niche forums or specific enthusiast sites I should be checking instead of the big mainstream ones?

looking for 1986-1989 models

must have the hardtop included

prefer signal red or midnight blue

no rust is a dealbreaker obviously

Im just tired of refreshing the same five tabs every hour and seeing nothing but overpriced junk or stuff that sells in two minutes. Does anyone have a secret spot they use for these?

Where can I actually find a decent used Mercedes C-Class online without getting scammed or dealing with crazy markups right now? Im seriously hitting a wall here. Ive been hunting for a C300, looking for something between 2017 and 2019 specifically because I like that body style and it fits my daily commute into the city. My old Accord finally bit the dust after 200k miles and honestly I just want something that feels nice to sit in for an hour of traffic every morning. My budget is capped at 23k and I really need to have something parked in my driveway by the end of next week because this rental car is eating my savings alive.

I spent the last three nights scrolling through Autotrader and Cars.com until my eyes hurt but it is such a disaster. I found three cars that looked perfect but when I called the dealerships they were like oh that car sold two days ago but hey we have this other one for 5k more. It feels like bait and switch is the standard now and its driving me crazy. Then I checked Carvana because people said it was easy but their prices are insane right now and I keep reading these horror stories about people waiting six weeks for their registration papers which I cant afford to deal with.

I even tried looking at Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist but the people on there are so sketchy. One guy wouldnt even send me the VIN number because he said it was for security reasons? Like how am I supposed to check the Carfax then? I read on a couple of blogs that I should look at Mercedes-specific forums but every time I go to the marketplace on MBWorld its all 80k dollar AMG models or cars that have been modified so much I wouldnt trust them to get me to the grocery store.

I live near Chicago so I really want to find something that hasn't been eaten by salt but buying from a southern state online feels like such a gamble if I cant see it in person first. Is there some specific site for used luxury cars that actually vets their listings or am I just stuck dealing with the big sites and hoping for the best... I feel like Im missing something obvious.

Honestly I am so fed up with the local guys here in Jersey. I've spent the last six months trying to find a clean R129 SL600 with the V12 but every single high-end lot I go to is just a bunch of guys in shiny suits trying to push me into a 2022 lease I dont want. Like, I tell them I want a specific 90s classic and they look at me like I have three heads or they try to show me some beat up project car with potential that actually just has a blown hydraulic suspension and a leaking roof. Im literally ready to throw my laptop out the window because every time a decent one pops up on those big auction sites it goes for double what its worth or the seller disappears the second I ask for a PPI. It is so frustrating because I finally have the cash ready—ive got about 110k saved up specifically for this and I want to get it done before the summer starts so I can actually drive it instead of just staring at pictures of other peoples cars. I am super excited to finally pull the trigger but the gatekeepers are making it impossible to find anything that isnt a total disaster or priced for a museum. I even flew out to Florida last week to see a pristine 560SEC and the thing had rust bubbles under the rear window that the dealer somehow missed in the photos. I wasted a thousand bucks on a flight and a hotel for nothing and it makes me so angry that people can be that dishonest. Is there anywhere that actually specializes in the rare stuff without the typical sleazy dealer vibes? I dont care if I have to ship it from California or even import it at this point I just want someone who actually knows what an M120 engine is and doesnt lie about the service history. I need a place that actually vets their inventory properly and maybe handles some of the harder to find AMG models too because I might be open to a pre-merger car if the price is right.
