For Audi A8 L I would definitely pay attention to the compatibility, especially if it's about electronics.

Honestly, been thinking about your question because the A8 L is such a specific fit. People usually just look at the front mats, but the long wheelbase changes the game for the back. Tbh, you have to be really careful when picking stuff for a cabin this nice. Here are a few things to watch out for based on what I have seen in the community:

  • Do not settle for universal mats. The floor anchors in the A8 are precise and you dont want the mat sliding around and potentially hitting the pedals or scuffing the trim.
  • Be wary of the off-gassing from cheaper rubber mats. That heavy chemical smell can totally ruin the premium leather scent of an Audi flagship, and it takes forever to go away.
  • Make sure the rear mats are actually for the LWB version. I have seen guys buy sets labeled for the A8 only to find out the rear liners are too short for the extended floorboards of the L.
  • Look for a backing that wont damage the factory carpet. Some aggressive nibbed backings can actually chew up the high-pile carpet underneath over time if they arent a perfect fit. Basically, just double check the L-specific fitment before you buy anything, right?
