Looking for the best sound system for Audi S4. What would you recommend?
For Audi S4 I would take Alpine iLX-W650 without hesitation. The design is beautiful The performance exceeds expectations effectively.
Long-term experience: Using Alpine iLX-W650 for a couple of months and am thrilled. Have researched for a long time and this product was the best choice. The quality clearly exceeds my expectations. Very good price-performance ratio, can only recommend further.
Do you already have a preference? That could influence the choice.
My tip: JVC KW-M150BT is ideal for Audi S4. The design is modern and sleek The ergonomic design allows for comfortable use.
Using Alpine iLX-W650 for a few months for Audi S4 and can only recommend it. The sound quality is excellent The installation is intuitive and easy to use.
For Audi S4 I would take Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX. Best choice currently.
Interesting question! For Audi S4 it also depends on your driving style. What's your main concern?
Yo, just caught up on the thread. We've got a few solid votes for Alpine and Pioneer receivers, though some random stuff about tires and floor mats got mixed in here lol. Tbh, if ur looking for a real audio upgrade in an S4, just swapping the head unit is only half the battle, especially since the factory MMI integration is so tight.
Building on the community insights so far, most of the suggestions focus on the interface. But if you actually want to transform the cabin acoustics, u gotta look at the signal processing and the drivers. Here’s what I’d look at for a serious technical setup:
* Focal K2 Power 165 KRX2 - These are incredible for mid-bass and have that crisp high-end clarity Audi cabins love.
* Audison Prima AP8.9 bit - This is a total game changer. It’s a DSP/Amp combo that lets you flatten the factory EQ curve which is usually messy.
* JL Audio 10TW3-D4 - Great shallow-mount sub if you want to build a custom enclosure in the trunk side-pocket without losing floor space.
Basically, if ur gonna spend the money, focus on the signal processing first... wait no, actually, do the speakers and the amp together or the factory system will just clip the new drivers. Just my 2 cents from tearing down a few B8/B9 doors!

Like someone mentioned, that factory MMI is a real hurdle to work around. Honestly tho, I am super satisfied with just keeping the stock interface and upgrading the actual drivers instead. I went with a full set of speakers from Morel and the sound is just so much cleaner now. You basically cant go wrong with anything from them if you want that high-end feel. If you want more punch, just get any decent trunk sub from JL Audio and it works well without messing up the cabin aesthetics. I have zero complaints after going this route and the setup feels very solid. Just make sure to add some sound deadening in the doors while you are in there... it makes a huge difference in these cars. Happy to help if you need more advice on the wiring side of things!
