Finally pulled the trigger on a 2024 Q5 and man, I love the drive but that piano black interior is already a nightmare for smudges. Ive owned Audis before so I know the drill with the MMI but this new layout needs more protection than my old A4. Im in Seattle so rain is constant and I've got kids hitting the back seats with muddy cleats every weekend.

Budget is around $400 to get this sorted. Looking for:

  • heavy duty floor liners that actually fit
  • center console organizer
  • maybe a screen protector?

What else am I missing for the cabin? That center cubby is way too deep...

Saw this earlier but just now getting a chance to reply. I've tried so many brands over the years and honestly, you dont always have to go for the most expensive names to get good protection.

  • Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for 2024 Audi Q5 vs Husky Liners Weatherbeater Floor Mats for Audi Q5. In my experience, Smartliner is the better value for money right now. Theyre slightly more flexible which makes pulling them out to wash easier, whereas the Husky mats are much stiffer and more rugged if youre dealing with serious Seattle mud every single day.
  • To save your seat backs from the kids, grab Diono Stuff 'n Scuff Seat Back Protector. Its a lifesaver for those muddy cleats and honestly holds up better than the more expensive luxury brands Ive tested. Super easy to wipe down.
  • For that cubby, try PIMCAR Center Console Organizer Tray for Audi Q5. Most people go for the grid dividers but a drop-in tray is much more functional for keeping your daily stuff like keys or a phone on top of that deep hole while hiding your bigger stuff underneath. That combo should keep you way under your 400 budget and handle the kid-damage just fine.

Im really satisfied with 3D MAXpider Kagu Floor Mats for Audi Q5. They wont slide and jam the pedals, which is a huge safety plus, and they cost way less than the dealership.

I remember when I first got my Q5 and thought I could just keep a microfiber cloth in the door for that piano black trim. Total mistake. Within a week, the sun hit it just right and I saw a million tiny scratches just from wiping off dust. Tbh, if youre dealing with kids and Seattle weather, you gotta go for total coverage or the salt and mud will just eat the carpets.

  • TuxMat Audi Q5 Custom Fit Floor Mats are my top pick because they cover almost every inch of the footwell. Standard mats usually leave the sides of the carpet exposed, but these clip into the trim so the mud from cleats actually stays on the mat. They have a more premium look than the industrial rubber ones too.
  • For the back of the seats, get Lusso Gear Heavy Duty Kick Mats for Kids. I found out the hard way that the plastic backing on Audi seats scuffs really easily when kids have mud on their shoes. These are cheap, waterproof, and you can just hose them off when they get gross.
  • For the piano black, Xpel Interior Protection Film Kit for Audi Q5 is a lifesaver. It is basically clear vinyl. It takes about an hour to install properly because you have to be careful with alignment, but it makes the surface way more durable. Definitely keeps the resale value up since that trim is usually the first thing to look aged. It basically makes the smudges non-existent and you can just wipe it with whatever without scratching the plastic.

Unfortunately, the liners I first tried werent as good as expected. They had poor fitment and failed to contain mud effectively. I learned that lower-priced options are often quite disappointing.

Saw this today and im really happy with how my interior turned out.

  • WeatherTech FloorLiner Floor Mats for Audi Q5 are essential. The high-density tri-extruded material keeps them rigid so mud doesnt spill when you pull them out.
  • Vehicle OCD Center Console Organizer for Audi Q5 stops the deep bin from becoming a black hole.
  • Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Audi MMI has an oleophobic coating that actually works against fingerprints.
