What is the best screen protector for Audi EV infotainment?

I recently took delivery of my new Audi Q4 e-tron, and while I absolutely love the dual-screen setup, I’m already getting a bit paranoid about the fingerprints and potential scratches. The main infotainment display is such a fingerprint magnet, and the glare can be pretty intense during my morning commute when the sun hits it just right. I really want to keep that sleek, factory look protected before I accidentally scuff it with a ring or something.

I’ve been looking at a few options online, but I’m torn between the tempered glass protectors and the matte film versions. I’m worried that a thick glass protector might mess with the touch sensitivity or make the haptic feedback feel weird, especially on the lower climate control screen. On the other hand, I don’t want a cheap matte film that ruins the crisp resolution of the Audi Virtual Cockpit aesthetics. Does anyone have experience with brands like Spigen or maybe some of the custom-cut kits from Amazon? I’m looking for something that offers a perfect fit without bubbles and ideally reduces the constant need for a microfiber cloth.

For those of you who have had your EV for a while, which brand or type of screen protector has held up the best for you?

In my experience, you definitely want to go with matte over glass. I've had the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Audi Q4 e-tron and while it's tough, the glare was still a NIGHTMARE, you know? I switched to the TheOCDPlug Matte Screen Protector for Audi Q4 e-tron and it's literally amazing. It hides all those oily fingerprints and the haptic feedback still feels perfect on the climate screen!! Matte film is the way to go for Audi interiors, honestly.

Reply #2 hit the nail on the head! In my experience:

1. Glossy glass is basically a mirror.
2. Quality matte cuts reflections without losing clarity.

Best move I ever made for my dash.

Seconding the recommendation above. I've been driving Audis for years, and the glare on the dual-screen setup is definitely a thing. While the TheOCDPlug Matte Screen Protector for Audi Q4 e-tron is solid, I actually tried the ScreenPro Tech Anti-Glare Screen Protector for Audi Q4 e-tron on my last lease and it was great too. Basically, matte is way better than glass because it hides those nasty fingerprints and stops the sun from blinding you during the morning commute. Plus, it doesnt mess with the haptic feedback at all. Just be careful with the install, cuz dust is your worst enemy... honestly, do it in the bathroom after a hot shower to keep the air clear. lol gl!

sooo i saw this earlier but just getting around to it now. basically the thing with audi screens is that they use a specialized coating from the factory, and unfortunately, putting a cheap screen protector on top can sometimes mess with the clarity or leave a sticky mess if you ever try to take it off. i learned that the hard way lol.

if youre worried about the cost, honestly, i think you might find this useful—check out some of those enthusiast forums like AudiWorld or the e-tron subreddits. there are literally tons of threads where people share DIY templates for custom cuts so you dont have to pay the premium for the big brands. honestly, just get any high-quality PET film from a reputable brand like Xpel or similar car wrap shops. they usually have scraps you can get for super cheap or even free, and they work way better for glare than the bulky glass ones. peace!

Quick question - before I give any advice, are you more worried about long-term screen damage or is it really just the glare that's driving you crazy right now? Also, does your Q4 have the haptic touch response on the lower screen?

I've seen some people struggle with sensitivity after adding thick layers, and since it's a safety thing to be able to adjust your defrost or climate quickly while driving, I'm always a bit cautious about what goes on top of those panels. Once I know that, I can probably suggest a few thinner options like the Vancle Screen Protector for Audi Q4 e-tron or maybe even a ceramic coating kit if you want to keep the factory glass feel without the bulk.

Would love to know this too

Ugh, tell me about it. Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane how quickly these screens go from looking futuristic to looking like a greasy cafeteria tray. I spend more time wiping down the dash than I do actually charging the car, I swear. It really kills the vibe when the sun hits and all you see is a smudgy mess instead of your navigation. After trying a few different setups, I found that the RUIYA Audi Q4 e-tron 11.6 Inch Infotainment Screen Protector is a really solid alternative to the big names. It is a bit thinner than the standard tempered glass, so you dont lose that tactile click feeling on the lower screen. If you want something a bit more high-end, check out the Lustre Matte Screen Protector for Audi Q4 e-tron. Its usually around 30 bucks, but the anti-reflective coating is way better than the cheap films that make the virtual cockpit look all grainy and pixelated. The Lustre one keeps the colors popping while actually hiding the oils from your fingers. Totally worth the extra few dollars imo.
