I recently took delivery of my new Audi Q4 e-tron, and while I absolutely love the dual-screen setup, I’m already getting a bit paranoid about the fingerprints and potential scratches. The main infotainment display is such a fingerprint magnet, and the glare can be pretty intense during my morning commute when the sun hits it just right. I really want to keep that sleek, factory look protected before I accidentally scuff it with a ring or something.
I’ve been looking at a few options online, but I’m torn between the tempered glass protectors and the matte film versions. I’m worried that a thick glass protector might mess with the touch sensitivity or make the haptic feedback feel weird, especially on the lower climate control screen. On the other hand, I don’t want a cheap matte film that ruins the crisp resolution of the Audi Virtual Cockpit aesthetics. Does anyone have experience with brands like Spigen or maybe some of the custom-cut kits from Amazon? I’m looking for something that offers a perfect fit without bubbles and ideally reduces the constant need for a microfiber cloth.
For those of you who have had your EV for a while, which brand or type of screen protector has held up the best for you?
Reply #2 hit the nail on the head! In my experience:
1. Glossy glass is basically a mirror.
2. Quality matte cuts reflections without losing clarity.
Best move I ever made for my dash.
