For Audi A4 I would take Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX without hesitation. The price-performance ratio is great The latest technology ensures perfect fit and good performance.

Long-term experience: Using Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX for about a year and am thrilled. Have researched for a long time and this product was the best choice. The quality clearly exceeds my expectations. Very good price-performance ratio, can only recommend further.

Unfortunately, I've found that most aftermarket solutions for the A4 are disappointing when it comes to actual technical integration. Many of these suggestions focus on the screen, but the audio quality is often not as good as expected because the Audi factory amplifier uses proprietary processing that is difficult to bypass. I think people underestimate how much the signal-to-noise ratio suffers without a proper digital interface. Not sure but IIRC, some users had issues where the system would clip because the input sensitivity wasnt matched correctly. I need a bit more clarification before I can offer a methodical recommendation:

  • What is your current factory sound stage?
  • Are you prioritizing frequency response accuracy or software features?
  • Is your budget inclusive of a digital signal processor? Honestly, I have seen too many of these installs end up sounding muddy because of basic gain staging issues, so knowing your starting point is essential.

Tbh looking through all these suggestions, there's a pretty big split between the big names like Pioneer, Alpine, and JVC for aftermarket head units. It seems like most people here are focusing on the interface, though one person somehow brought up tires which is totally irrelevant lol. But honestly, it’s hard to give a solid recommendation without knowing a bit more about what you're actually after. Are you just looking for a new screen for better connectivity like CarPlay, or are you trying to upgrade the whole audio stage including speakers and an amp? Also, do you already have the Bang & Olufsen factory upgrade? That makes a massive difference in how you'd approach an install, especially with the wiring and bypasses. Basically, what's your budget looking like and what year is your A4? Ngl, it changes everything if you're dealing with the newer MMI vs the older setups.
