I recently picked up a 2024 Enclave and, while I love the car, the factory interior lighting feels a bit dim and yellow for my taste. I’m looking to swap them out for some crisp, cool white LEDs to give the cabin a more modern, premium feel. I’ve been browsing brands like Diode Dynamics and Lasfit, but I’m worried about flicker issues or the bulbs not fitting correctly in the overhead console and vanity mirrors. Has anyone here upgraded their late-model Buick interior yet? I’m specifically looking for a plug-and-play kit that won't throw any codes. Which brand offers the best brightness without being blinding at night?
Seconding the recommendation above. Honestly, safety is #1 when messing with electronics in a brand-new Enclave. I mean, cheap bulbs are a FIRE risk if they overheat in those tight plastic housings! I'm still learning the ropes, but I think Philips X-tremeVision LED 194 is a solid, safer choice that wont flicker or throw codes. Basically, just make sure they're CANbus compatible so you dont fry anything. gl!
For your situation, I've gotta say I've been down this road with my own GM rigs and you definitely want to be careful. I actually tried some cheap Amazon bulbs first and they flickered like crazy and got super hot, which is honestly kinda scary for the plastic housings in a brand new Enclave. I eventually switched over to Diode Dynamics 194 HP5 LED Bulbs for the map lights and Lasfit 29mm LED Vanity Mirror Bulbs. The HP5s are the sweet spot because they aren't blindingly bright but have that highkey premium cool white look you're after. Just make sure to use a plastic trim tool so you dont scratch the console! Tbh I'd suggest starting with just the map lights first to see if you like the output before doing the whole car... some of these kits can be way too much at night imo. Good luck with the swap tho!
For your situation, I would suggest looking into Sylvania ZEVO LED 194 White bulbs for the cabin. Tbh, you gotta be careful because the Enclave's CANbus system is super sensitive and cheaper LEDs might flicker or stay dimly lit when off. These Sylvania ones are basically industry standard for reliability. Just make sure to check the polarity when installing... if it doesnt light up, just flip it around!
Just catching up on this thread and honestly, I totally agree with what was said about reliability being #1... but you gotta watch the price tag too. I went through this last year when I wanted to spruce up my cabin without spending a fortune. Basically, I spent a few weeks trial-and-erroring different sets because I didn't want to pay the "premium brand" tax.
My journey taught me a few things:
* You definitely dont need the most expensive kit to avoid flickering.
* Mid-range bulbs from big-box stores often work fine if they're labeled "CANbus ready."
* Buying individual bulbs instead of a pre-packaged "kit" saved me like 40% overall.
It was a bit of a learning curve since I'm still figuring out the electrical side of these newer GM rigs, but getting that crisp white look for cheap was so worth it. Good luck with the 2024! 👍
Great info, saved!
Honestly, I’m still a bit of a newbie with the 2024 Enclave specifically, but I've done the DIY bulb swap on my last few GM cars. It is totally something you can do yourself in the driveway, you just need to be careful with the plastic clips. Basically, it's pretty straightforward if you have the right tools. A couple things to keep in mind for a clean install: * Get a Tresalto Auto Trim Removal Tool Set. Seriously. Using a metal screwdriver on a brand-new interior is a recipe for scratches, you know?
* I really like the GTR Lighting T10/194 LED Bulbs for the overheads. They are super crisp and feel very high-end without the flicker.
* Maybe look at Morimoto T10 LED Bulbs too. They usually have great heat sinks which helps them last a lot longer in those tight housings. Tbh, I’m wondering if the footwell lights on the 2024 are already LED? Sometimes the manufacturers solder those in now so you can't even swap them out. Have you peeked under the dash yet to see if they're actually removable bulbs?
