I just picked up my 2025 Buick Enclave and the interior is way too nice to let my 75-pound Golden Retriever ruin it! Since the 2025 redesign has those specific seat dimensions and the new tech layout, I’m worried about finding a protector that fits perfectly without sliding around. I’m looking for something heavy-duty and waterproof that covers the second-row captain's chairs but still allows access to the seatbelt buckles. I’ve looked at some universal covers, but they always seem to bunch up in larger SUVs. Does anyone have a specific brand or custom-fit protector that works well with the new Enclave's cabin layout? I really want to protect the leather from claws and mud!
Ok so, similar situation here - I went through this last year when I got my previous SUV. I was so worried about the leather, but being on a budget, I spent forever looking for a deal. Honestly, I tried a cheaper Vailge Dog Car Seat Cover for Back Seat and I was pretty happy because it didn't break the bank and actually stayed put.
I've found a few things that help keep costs down:
1. Look for covers with those 'seat anchors' (plastic tubes you shove into the seat cracks) so they dont slide.
2. Make sure it has those Velcro openings for seatbelts so u dont have to cut anything.
3. A 'hammock' style is usually better for big dogs like Goldens cuz it blocks them from jumping into the front!
I'm still a beginner with the 2025 tech, so I'm always a bit cautious about covering sensors, but a simple hammock worked well for me without blocking anything important. gl!
Seconding the recommendation above for custom-fit stuff! Ngl, generic covers are a nightmare in the new Enclave because they mess with the seatbelt geometry and slide right off the captain's chairs.
Since you've got a 75lb Golden, safety is actually the biggest concern here. You don't want the cover sliding during a turn and distracting you, or worse, tangling in the buckles. If you want something that looks OEM but is tough as nails, definitely check out 4Knines Crew Cab Dog Seat Cover with Hammock for Large Trucks and SUVs. It’s extra wide and the non-slip backing actually works on the Enclave's leather.
Another safety-first option is the Orvis Grip-Tight Quilted Microfiber Backseat Protector. It’s pricey but literally stays put like it’s bolted down, and the heavy-duty fabric won't let claws through to the seats. Plus, both of these have specific flaps for seatbelt access so you can still use a safety tether!
Basically, I think custom-fit brands like WeatherTech are safest, cuz my old generic one unfortunately bunched up and didnt protect the seats as good as expected... serious bummer!
Sooo I’ve been dealing with big dogs and SUVs for over 20 years, and honestly, the new 2025 Enclave layout is tricky because of those captain's chairs. I think Canvasback is probably your best bet if they've released the 2025 specs yet! Their stuff is basically bulletproof and actually sticks to the carpeted backings. IIRC, Orvis also makes a killer "hammock" style that’s heavy-duty enough for a 75lb Golden. Definitely look for something with non-slip backing cuz the leather in those Buicks is super slick!! Good luck protecting that interior haha.
