I just picked up a new Envista, but the long ultrawide display makes finding a good mounting spot tricky! I’m looking for a sturdy wireless charger that won't block the screen or the narrow vents. Has anyone found a MagSafe or motorized mount that fits this specific dash layout perfectly without shaking? Any recommendations?

Sooo I just saw this thread and honestly, I feel your pain! Since you're looking for something that won't break the bank but still looks high-end, I've spent a lot of time looking into value-for-money options. Since the Envista dash is basically 90% screen, you really gotta be careful about where things stick!

I mean, for your situation, I'd suggest looking at these two:

- ESR MagSafe Car Mount with CryoBoost: This one is AMAZING because it actually cools your phone while it charges. It's usually way cheaper than the high-end motorized ones, but the magnet is super strong so no shaking!!
- iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dash & Windshield Mount: This is a classic for a reason. It's super sturdy and has a telescoping arm that might help you clear that massive screen without blocking your view of the road.

Basically, the ESR is great if you have an iPhone, but the iOttie is better for a tighter budget since it's almost always on sale. I think the ESR looks a bit cleaner on the dash tho! Good luck with the new ride, it's a beauty! 👍

TL;DR: Skip the dash/vent mounts for safety; get a high-quality cup holder mount instead.

Respectfully, I'd consider another option because those dash mounts are honestly a huge safety risk in the Envista. I've been driving for 20 years and seen too many screens get scratched or visibility blocked by bulky mounts. After trying everything, I'm super satisfied with the WeatherTech CupFone with Extension. It keeps the ultrawide display totally clear and doesnt block those tiny vents. It's basically rock solid even on bumpy roads! 👍

Sooo I went through this last year when I first got my Envista, and honestly? It was such a headache. That ultrawide screen is gorgeous but a total nightmare for mounting stuff because it's so high up. I initially tried a vent clip, but those narrow vents are basically useless for holding weightβ€”mine literally snapped a plastic slat after two days... total disaster tbh.

I ended up getting the iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless 2 Dash & Windshield Mount because it has a telescopic arm that lets you clear the screen height. But even then, I found that the heat from the wireless charging combined with the sun hitting the dash made my phone overheat constantly. Not great for the battery life!

Lessons learned:
* Avoid the vents entirely, they're too flimsy for the weight of a MagSafe setup.
* Go for a long-arm suction mount like the ESR Magnetic Wireless Car Charger (HaloLock) if you want MagSafe, but mount it low on the dash or way over by the A-pillar.
* Be careful with the adhesive on the dashβ€”the texture is kinda weird and some pads just wont stick.

I eventually just gave up on the dash and went with a console setup, but yeah, it's definitely a struggle with this layout! gl!

To add to the point above: honestly, safety and visibility are the biggest deal with that huge display. I was pretty worried about blocking my view when I first got mine. Before I can really point you in the right direction tho, are you mainly using the mount for navigation or just for keeping the phone charged up? I'm super satisfied with how mine turned out, but I basically just followed a guide I found online.

  • check out some youtube install videos for the envista specifically
  • look at the reddit threads about this dash layout
  • browse the official buick accessories site to see their mounting points There's a really good DIY video if you just search buick envista dash mount hack on youtube. It shows exactly how to get a stable fit without messing up the screen. Definitely worth a watch before you spend any money!

oh man, congrats on the new Envista! honestly, that screen is massive lol. i was worried about blocking it too, so i've been trying out the Lamicall Magnetic Phone Car Mount for Dashboard lately. it uses a sticky base that's kinda flexible, so i mounted it just to the left of the screen. it's lowkey perfect cuz it doesn't block the vents or the display. just make sure to clean the dash reallyyy well first or it might shake on bumps!!

> @Reply #6 - good point! honestly, visibility is the biggest thing with these tech-heavy interiors. in my experience, once you start cluttering that line of sight, it is just a matter of time before you get distracted at the wrong moment. i remember this road trip i took back in 2018 in my old regal. i was heading up to a cabin in northern michigan and my mount kept failing, so i just threw the phone on the passenger seat. ended up taking a wrong turn onto some old gravel logging road because i couldn't see the map properly and lost signal. i eventually found this tiny diner called pete’s... seriously had the best homemade cherry pie i have ever tasted in my life. the waitress told me i was like 30 miles in the wrong direction but we spent ages talking about the local fishing spots and where the bass were biting that season. anyway lol, sorry kinda went off topic there.
