tbh its been cool reading all these suggestions and seeing what works for everyone!! basically seems like the Alpine, Kenwood, and JVC units are the big winners here for the Buick. as someone still learning the ropes i wanted to add that i've been looking at a few other things that might help out too since stock speakers can be pretty weak in these cars...

here are my beginner picks if you want to try something different:
- Sony XAV-AX150 - i love that it has a physical dial for volume, way easier than tapping a screen while driving!!
- Pioneer TS-A1680F - these speakers are super popular for a budget upgrade over the factory ones
- definitely grab a Metra 70-1858 wiring harness so the install is plug and play

does anyone know if these newer units still let you use the chimes for the car door and stuff?? i'm kinda worried about losing those features if i swap it out myself!
