Which roof rack crossbars fit the Buick Enclave best?

Hey everyone! I’m hoping to tap into the collective wisdom of this group. We recently upgraded to a Buick Enclave (we absolutely love the smooth ride and the quiet cabin!), and we’re currently prepping for our first big family road trip up to the mountains this summer. With three kids and a goldendoodle in tow, we quickly realized that even with the Enclave’s generous cargo area, we’re going to be tight on space once we have the third row in use. We definitely need a roof rack to mount our cargo carrier and maybe a couple of bikes.

I’ve been scouring the internet for crossbars, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options and the price differences. My Enclave has the factory flush side rails, so I know I specifically need the crossbars that mount onto those. My biggest concern is wind noise. One of the reasons we bought the Enclave was because it’s so incredibly quiet inside, and I’m terrified of installing bars that are going to whistle or hum at highway speeds. I’ve been looking at the Thule WingBar Evo and the Yakima JetStream, but I’m also considering just going with the official GM OEM bars since they’re technically designed for the car.

Another specific detail I’m worried about is the clearance for the panoramic sunroof. I really don't want to install something that prevents the glass from tilting or sliding properly, or something that sits so low that the clamps might interfere with the seal. Has anyone here with the moonroof option successfully installed a set that doesn't cause issues? I’m also curious if anyone has noticed a major hit to their fuel economy with certain brands.

I’m looking for a balance between a sleek, low-profile look and actual heavy-duty utility. If you’ve fitted crossbars to your Enclave, which brand and model did you find fits the best, and was the installation easy enough to do in the driveway? I’d love to hear your recommendations before I pull the trigger on a $500+ setup!

Rack safety is basically about clearance—tight fits can literally crack sunroofs. I've used Inno XS400 Flush Mount Aero Bar and Turtle Air1 Roof Rack... the Inno's extra height is just safer for hauls.

Sooo I went through this last year with our 2022 Enclave. I was totally paranoid about that panoramic moonroof too... literally didn't want to hear a crunch the first time I tilted it! I spent way too much time comparing a few setups:

* Yakima JetStream Black 50 inch Crossbars with Yakima RidgeLine Towers: Super quiet. The aero shape is legit, but the towers add some height which looks less integrated than I wanted.
* Buick Enclave OEM Roof Rack Cross Rails: Honestly, these are the cheapest and look the cleanest, but they're basically flush with the roof. I found the clearance for the sunroof clamps was way too close for comfort.
* Rhino-Rack Vortex ROC25 Flush Roof Rack: This was a decent middle ground.

I'm still a bit torn tbh, but safety won out over the low-profile look. It’s a tough balance for sure!! Good luck with the mountain trip. 👍

In my experience over the years, I'd be careful with the OEM bars since they sit REALLY low and might interfere with your panoramic sunroof tilt... I learned that the hard way! I would suggest the Thule WingBar Evo 135 paired with the Thule Flush Rail Evo foot pack because they're basically silent. Just make sure you dont forget to check the clearance once they're on!

Hmm, I've had a different experience. Respectfully, I'd suggest a different approach because spending $600 on those big names is basically overkill if you're only doing a few trips a year, right? I'm pretty cautious with my budget, and you can definitely get that quiet ride without the massive brand tax.

Quick tips for the cautious shopper:
* Consider the Malone AirFlow2 Aluminum Aero Cross Rail System 50 inch instead—they're high-quality but won't break the bank.
* Make sure to check the actual clearance with a ruler BEFORE you fully tighten everything down... better safe than sorry with that panoramic glass!

Seriously, these bars are super quiet and I haven't noticed any whistling at highway speeds. They're basically just as sturdy as the ones mentioned earlier but wayyy more affordable. Hope ur trip goes great! 👍
