Are there custom sunshades designed specifically for the Cadillac OPTIQ?

I recently took delivery of my Cadillac OPTIQ, and I’m already worried about the summer heat hitting that massive curved display and the premium upholstery. I’ve tried a couple of generic 'one-size-fits-all' shades I had in the garage, but the fit is terrible because of the unique windshield dimensions and the large sensor housing behind the rearview mirror. I really want something that fits edge-to-edge to provide maximum UV protection. Since it’s a newer model, I’m having trouble finding specific listings online. Has anyone found a high-quality, custom-fit sunshade from brands like Covercraft or WeatherTech that’s confirmed to fit the OPTIQ perfectly, or is there an official Cadillac accessory available yet?

Ok so, I'm definitely in the same boat as you—im actually lowkey terrified of that screen cracking or delaminating from the heat!! Before I give any advice tho, curious about one thing: are you looking for the stiff, folding board type or do you prefer the flexible ones you can roll up?? I'm super cautious about anything scratching the dash.

I've been looking at a couple of budget-friendly ways to handle this while we wait for more custom options:

1. EcoNour Car Windshield Sun Shade 2-Piece Classic vs. A1 Shades Windshield Sun Shade.
- The EcoNour Car Windshield Sun Shade 2-Piece Classic is basically a steal and the two-piece design is actually better for fitting around that huge sensor housing since you can overlap them.
- The A1 Shades Windshield Sun Shade is similar but uses a higher density fabric.

Idk, I might just wait for a true custom fit cuz I'm worried about the gaps letting heat in. Just be careful with the cheap ones... some have metal wires that can poke through and scratch your trim if you arent careful!!! lol.

yo, congrats on the new ride! honestly, I feel u on the heat thing. that huge screen is basically a giant magnet for UV rays and it's scary to think about it baking all day. I actually went through this exact struggle with my OPTIQ a few weeks back.

So basically, I tried the official Cadillac OPTIQ Custom-Fit Sunshade from the dealer first. It costs about $110, which is kinda pricey, but the fit is literal perfection around that massive sensor housing. However, I gotta be honest, it's super bulky to fold up... like, it takes up way too much room in the back seat when you're driving.

I also checked out the WeatherTech Custom Fit SunShade for Cadillac OPTIQ because they're usually my go-to. It's cheaper (around $60) and does a decent job, but it feels a bit thinner than the OEM one. If you're on a budget, it's totally fine, but it doesnt feel as premium as the car deserves imo.

TL;DR: If you want the absolute best coverage and dont mind the bulk, get the Covercraft UVS100 Custom Sunscreen for Cadillac OPTIQ. It's about $100, but the triple-layer protection is seriously the best for keeping that curved display cool. The dealer one is a close second but a bit overpriced for what it is. gl! 👍

TL;DR: Safety-wise, generic shades are risky for that tech-heavy dash, so I'm looking at HeatShield or Intro-Tech to protect the electronics long-term.

Sooo, I went through this last year with my previous EV and honestly, I'm having the same anxiety with the OPTIQ. When you've got that massive curved display, it's not just about the heat on the seats—it's about the internal components. I'm highkey worried about the long-term reliability of the screen sensors if they're constantly baking at 120+ degrees.

Unfortunately, the 'universal' ones I tried were total junk and kept slipping, which is actually a safety hazard if they fall while you're driving or mess with the mirror housing. I’ve had issues with cheap ones flaking off onto the upholstery too. Honestly, I’d say just look into HeatShield or maybe check what Intro-Tech is cooking up. They usually nail the edge-to-edge coverage that actually blocks the UV rays from hitting the sensitive tech. It's kinda annoying there isn't a 'perfect' OEM one yet, but I'd definitely go with a specialized brand over anything generic from a big box store, ya know?

Similar situation here - I honestly went through this exact headache when I first got my OPTIQ. I'm highkey obsessed with protecting that curved screen, but finding a fit was a nightmare. I actually ordered the WeatherTech Custom Fit SunShade thinking it'd be a slam dunk, but unfortunately, the cutout for the sensor housing was just slightly off on the early batch I received, which was sooo frustrating for the price.

I ended up comparing a few setups:

* Covercraft Custom UVS100 Sunscreen: This one is built like a tank and uses a triple-layered laminate. It fits better around the mirror, but it's super bulky to store.
* Cadillac Accessories Front Roller Sunshade: This is the official GM part. It's pricey and honestly not as thick as the aftermarket ones, but the coverage is literally pixel-perfect.

I mean, if you want the best thermal protection, the Covercraft is king, but the official one is way easier for daily use. Just my two cents!

Honestly, while everyone is hunting for that perfect custom front shade, I kind of have a different take after years of dealing with these high-tech interiors. Tbh, even the most expensive edge-to-edge shade wont stop the cabin from heat soaking if the rest of the glass is acting like a greenhouse. You can get a perfect fit for the windshield, but that massive curved display still takes a beating from the side windows and the glass roof anyway... So basically, before you commit to one of the custom boards, what kind of environment are you actually dealing with on the daily? Like, is this for a car that sits in a desert parking lot for 9 hours, or just for occasional weekend trips? Also, are you planning on adding ceramic tint to the side glass, or is the sunshade literally the only thing youre relying on? If youre looking at long-term ownership, the total heat load is what really wears down those internal components over time what with the electronics being so sensitive.

Exactly what I was thinking
