I’m looking to protect the back of my XT4 from groceries and hiking gear. I’ve seen the official Cadillac ones, but I’m curious if brands like WeatherTech or Husky Liners fit the floor contours better. Does anyone have one that covers the seat backs too? I’d love to know which one offers the best grip so things don't slide around.

Ok so I totally get the struggle of keeping the XT4 clean, especially with hiking gear. Honestly, I spent forever comparing WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit vs Husky Liners WeatherBeater Cargo Liner, but then I found a much better budget option. I ended up going with the SMARTLINER Custom Fit Cargo Liner Black and it literally saved me a ton of cash. I think I paid around $85, whereas the name brands were pushing $120+ easily.

The fit is actually pretty decent for the price! It covers the floor contours well, but if you want the seat backs covered too, you basically have to look at the Cadillac XT4 Premium All-Weather Cargo Area Tray which has the integrated seat back protection. Honestly, the Smartliner is a bit slippery, so I just use a cheap cargo net to keep groceries from flying around. For the price difference, it's totally worth it imo. Good luck with the search!! 👍

For your situation, I'd say honestly dont feel like you HAVE to spend a fortune on the big name brands if you're worried about things sliding around. I found that the MAXLINER Custom Fit Cargo Liner Black for 2019-2024 Cadillac XT4 is actually a FANTASTIC value play! It's usually way cheaper than WeatherTech and has a slightly more rubbery grip so your groceries dont go flying when you take a turn.

If you're really worried about the seat backs tho, check out the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Cargo Liner—it looks super sleek and high-end but it's basically indestructible. I think it's one of the best looking options for the XT4 interior, right? Plus, if things get messy after a hike, you just hose it off and you're good. It's highkey the best balance of price and protection imo. Hope that helps, gl!

In my experience, if ur looking for the ultimate grip and seat-back protection, the WeatherTech options are solid but actually kinda slippery for groceries. For your XT4, I highkey recommend the Canvasback Cadillac XT4 Cargo Liner if you want that full seat-back coverage. It's basically indestructible for hiking gear!

Another technical favorite of mine:
* Lloyd Mats Northridge Cargo Mat - The pattern literally traps spills and is way less slidey than the plastic trays.

Over the years, I've found that the soft-shell liners like Canvasback fit the contours way better than those stiff plastic ones. Hope that helps!!

Ok so I have been through a dozen of these setups over the years and honestly the best way to get that perfect fit without the slide is to look into some high-end TPE mats from a brand like TuxMat. Just get any of the TuxMat options and youre basically set because the coverage is much more comprehensive than the stuff you find at the dealership. If you want to go the DIY route though, which I usually recommend for the real gearheads who want maximum grip, you should get a heavy duty industrial rubber sheet and custom trim it to your XT4 cargo dimensions. It takes some patience with a sharp utility knife and a cardboard template but the results are way more rugged than those thin plastic shells. Here is what I usually prioritize:

  • High-density TPE materials for better surface friction
  • Deep channels to catch the mud from hiking boots
  • Nibbed backing to prevent the liner itself from shifting Tbh if you have the time to DIY a trim-to-fit mat you can get a way better grip for your groceries than the pre-molded trays. Just make sure you use a fresh blade so the edges look professional and clean.

Respectfully, I'd consider another option. While everyone is focused on grip and price, I’m honestly more worried about the safety and material quality. I've seen some of those cheaper liners off-gas like crazy in the summer heat, and you really dont want to be breathing those fumes in a compact cabin like the XT4... it's lowkey a health hazard!!

I’d actually suggest looking into a liner from 3D MAXpider instead. Their stuff is usually way more reliable because the backing literally velcroes itself to the carpet so it wont budge during a sharp turn. If your gear shifts and hits the seat back, it could be a real safety issue, right? Just go with any of the premium KAGU series or similar types from that brand. They use safer, non-toxic materials that are much more stable long-term. Better to be safe than save twenty bucks tbh. gl!
