So I finally pulled the trigger and got an Escalade-V and honestly I'm terrified of ruining the inside already. I'm picking it up in Miami next Tuesday and I'm just staring at the screen trying to figure out what I actually need to buy for it... like do people do floor mats even if it has nice carpet? I saw some rubber ones but they looked kinda cheap for such a fast car so I'm confused. My logic was maybe seat covers for the kids but then why have the nice leather right? Im a total newbie with luxury SUVs and I have like $700 left in my car fun budget so what do I actually need to keep it looking new without making it look like a work truck? I really have no idea where to start...
In my experience, you definitely want to protect that interior before the kids or the weather get to it. Over the years, I've tried many different setups for my high-end SUVs, and I learned the hard way that a wait-and-see approach usually ends in a permanent stain. When I first got my last luxury truck, I was super hesitant about rubber mats because I didn't want it looking like a construction vehicle... honestly tho, after one rainy week, the carpet was already looking rough. I eventually found some premium liners that fit the floor perfectly and they actually looked quite sleek once installed. For the seats, I used to skip covers too, but a spilled drink changed my mind real fast. Now I keep some easy-to-remove protectors in the back for when the kids are with me. It saves the leather without hiding it 24/7.
