I’m finally getting my hands on a new Cadillac LYRIQ next week, and I’m beyond excited! However, I’m a bit overwhelmed by the charging options. While the dual-level cord it comes with seems decent, I’m looking for a more permanent Level 2 home setup that can really take advantage of the LYRIQ’s 11.5 kW or 19.2 kW charging capacity. I’m also considering a more rugged portable cable for road trips. Has anyone found a specific wallbox that integrates well with the Cadillac app, or maybe some must-have cable management tools for a tight garage space? What specific charging accessories have you found to be the most high-quality and reliable for your LYRIQ?

yo, congrats on the LYRIQ!! Ngl, everyone talks about those 19.2 kW speeds, but as someone who’s seen a lot of melted sockets over the years, safety has to come first. Basically, to hit that max speed, you're gonna need a 100-amp circuit. Most homes literally aren't ready for that continuous load, sooo definitely get a pro to do a load calculation before buying anything. For a setup that’s actually reliable and integrates with your app:
* Home: I’d suggest the Cadillac GM PowerUp+ Wallbox. It’s specifically engineered for the Ultium platform and handles that 80-amp output safely if your panel can handle it.
* Portable: Look into the Webasto Go Dual Voltage Portable EV Charger. It’s UL-listed and way more rugged than the cheap ones you see online. Honestly, make sure whatever you pick is UL-certified. I've seen too many "budget" chargers fail under heat... it’s scary tbh. Better safe than sorry! gl with the new ride! 👍

you might want to consider Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger for $350. its rugged and saves cash compared to 19.2kW setups. just make sure to check ur panel capacity first!

sooo i went through this last year! basically, hitting 19.2 kW is a huge technical project. first, i realized my panel couldnt handle the load, so i installed the Emporia Level 2 EV Charger on a 60-amp circuit. it integrates well with my energy monitoring. second, for road trips, i carry the Lectron J1772 40 Amp Level 2 Portable EV Charger cuz it feels more rugged than the stock cord. gl with the new ride!!

yo, congrats on the LYRIQ! it’s a beast, but picking the right gear is actually kinda stressful. I’ve been driving EVs for years and tbh, most people dont realize that to hit that 19.2 kW max, ur gonna need a massive 100-amp circuit. I actually had issues with some third-party boxes that were not as good as expected and just wouldnt sync with the Cadillac app... super frustrating. Here is the move:
- GM Energy PowerShift Charger 80 Amp 19.2kW is the way to go for the full speed. It actually talks to the car’s software properly.
- Grab a Grizzl-E Classic NEMA 14-50 Level 2 EV Charger for road trips. It’s built like a tank compared to the flimsy stock cord.
- Use the EVoCharge EV Cable Retractor to keep things tidy in ur garage. Anyway, dont cheap out on the install. good luck!! peace

Tbh Drubzibguh is totally right, those 100-amp circuits are a massive undertaking. Just seeing this thread now while I have a sec and it totally reminds me of when I tried to DIY a high-powered setup in my old place for a different project. I thought I could handle it myself since I am pretty handy with tools, but man, it turned into such a mess. I spent three weekends basically living in the crawlspace and even dropped a heavy-duty conduit right on my foot... hurt like crazy. Then I found out the previous owners had done some really questionable stuff to the main panel that I didnt catch at first. By the time I actually got the wires pulled through the walls, I realized I had bought the wrong gauge wire for the run length anyway because I miscalculated the distance. Spent like 500 bucks on copper I couldnt even use and had to start all over. My wife still brings it up whenever I mention wanting to tinker with the Lyriq setup lol. It is just wild how a simple weekend project can turn into a month-long saga when you are dealing with high-voltage stuff...
