I’m beyond excited because I finally took delivery of my new Cadillac LYRIQ! Now that it’s sitting in the driveway, I’m realizing I need to get a dedicated home charging station set up ASAP. The portable cord that comes with the car is okay for emergencies, but I really want something faster and more permanent for my garage. I’m looking for a Level 2 charger that can take full advantage of the LYRIQ’s charging capabilities, especially since I have the AWD model with the 19.2 kW onboard charger potential. I’ve been looking at the GM Ultium PowerUp station, but I’ve also heard good things about the ChargePoint Home Flex and the Emporia. My main concerns are reliability and having a user-friendly app to track my energy usage and schedule charging during off-peak hours to save on the power bill. I’m planning on a hardwired installation to get the highest speeds possible. For those of you who have been driving the LYRIQ for a while, which home charging station have you found to be the most reliable and efficient for daily use?

yo, first off, huge congrats on the LYRIQ!! honestly, that AWD model is a beast. but yeah, i totally get the anxiety about the charging setup. over the years, I've tried many different setups, and i tend to be pretty cautious when it comes to high-voltage stuff in my garage. if youre looking to actually hit those 19.2 kW speeds, you gotta be careful because that requires a massive 100-amp circuit, which most homes honestly arent ready for without a serious panel upgrade.

In my experience, here is what I recommend:

• GM Ultium PowerUp+ Level 2 Charging Station 19.2 kW - Since you want to max out the LYRIQ's potential, this is the safest bet. It's literally designed for the Ultium platform, so the communication between the car and the app is usually more reliable. Plus, it looks slick in the garage.

ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 EV Charger 50 Amp - I've used this one for a long time and it's basically the gold standard for reliability. The app is super user-friendly for scheduling off-peak hours, though keep in mind it tops out at 50 amps (12 kW) even when hardwired.

Emporia Level 2 EV Charger 48 Amp - Great budget pick if you want deep energy tracking, but it wont hit those 19.2 kW speeds either.

Seriously tho, before you buy anything, please talk to a licensed electrician. Pulling 80 amps continuously (for a 100-amp circuit) creates a TON of heat. I highkey recommend going with the GM Ultium PowerUp+ Level 2 Charging Station 19.2 kW if you have the electrical capacity, but make sure your home can actually handle it first!! gl with the new ride peace

Seconding the recommendation above about being careful with those super high speeds! honestly, trying to hit 19.2 kW at home is overkill and can get crazy expensive with the electrical upgrades you'd need. i mean, unless you're driving 300 miles every single day, it's probably not worth the extra grand in wiring... i'd suggest looking at the Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48 Amp Level 2 EV Charger instead. it's super reliable, has a great app for scheduling, and is way more budget-friendly than the industrial stuff while still being plenty fast for a LYRIQ. basically, just make sure to get a quality install and you're good! gl!

TL;DR from this thread: you're choosing between standard home units and heavy-duty industrial power. Honestly, I spent way too much on a fancy setup that died right after the warranty... so disappointing. But basically:

* Stick to reputable brands like Tesla or Grizzl-E
* Avoid the 'premium' markup for apps you won't use

Just get any unit from those brands and you'll be fine. ur wallet will thank you lol.

Adding my two cents here. Since youre doing a hardwired install, I really suggest looking at the Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger 40 Amp. Its a solid metal box and super reliable for DIYers because it doesnt have all the sensitive wifi chips that tend to fry. If you absolutely need an app, the Enel X Way JuiceBox 48 is a decent option, tho I prefer the simple stuff for safety. When I was setting mine up, I actually got distracted and ended up repainting my entire workbench with that heavy-duty epoxy stuff. It looks great but took forever to dry because of the humidity here. My wife thought I was crazy for starting a painting project while the car was waiting for its charger lol. DIY life I guess... anyway, good luck with the install and congrats on the new ride.

Ok so, congrats on the LYRIQ, but I'd actually suggest a different approach than just grabbing the standard consumer units like the ChargePoint or Emporia. Honestly, if you're serious about hitting that 19.2 kW potential on your AWD model, you're entering industrial-grade territory. Most standard home chargers max out at 48A (11.5 kW), which is basically leaving speed on the table for your specific car.

In my experience, if you want to push the full 80A required for 19.2 kW, you really should look at the GM Ultium PowerUp+ Level 2 Charging Station. It's specifically engineered for the Cadillac's architecture. However, keep in mind:

* You'll need a massive 100-amp dedicated circuit.
* Standard wiring won't cut it—you gotta use heavy-gauge copper.
* It MUST be hardwired by a pro who knows EVSE standards.

I mean, standard 48A is plenty for most, but since you mentioned the AWD's capacity, why settle? Just be cautious—pushing that much juice generates a lot of heat, so don't skimp on the install. Good luck!!
