just got my ct5-v blackwing and i am literally shaking with excitement lol. im in south florida and got a track day at sebring in three weeks so i want more punch. i have about 5k set aside and i saw some stuff about the weapon-x intake or a pulley swap. the thing is i read that the stock intake is already basically maxed out for flow so idk if the 800 bucks is a waste of cash. also some guys say the pulley needs a custom tune that will definitely void my warranty which i dont want since the car is brand new. what are the best performance mods for these things if i want to stay mostly safe?

Ive been really satisfied with how the LT4 platform handles heat once you address the actual weak points. Youre totally right about the intake tho... the stock housing is already high-flow and the pressure drop is basically zero at factory boost levels. Adding an intake is mostly just for blower whine until you swap pulleys. Since youre heading to Sebring, which is basically a car-torture chamber, I suggest focusing on thermal management instead of more power. I personally use Castrol SRF React Racing Brake Fluid because its 590F dry boiling point prevents pedal fade during heavy 20-minute sessions. It works well and gives me total confidence. Also, definitely look into Ferodo DS1.11 Track Brake Pads for better bite. These pads manage the thermal mass of such a heavy car way better than the street pads do. No complaints with this setup and it wont touch your warranty either... happy with how it performs.

Quick reply while I have a sec... ^ This. Also, I was honestly super bummed when I realized how fast these LT4 platforms started pulling timing once I hit the track in the Florida humidity. I actually spent a chunk of change on an aftermarket intake early on and it was pretty much a letdown... just more blower whine without any actual lap time improvement. Not as good as I expected for the investment, honestly. Since you are hitting Sebring, focus on the heat because that place is an absolute furnace. I had major issues with my supercharger coolant temps after just a few hot laps. I definitely recommend looking into the Katech LT4 Supercharger Expansion Tank which usually runs around 650. It basically adds way more volume to the system so you arent losing power 10 minutes into your session because the ECU sensed things getting too toasty. If you still have most of that 5k left, look at a better heat exchanger. I grabbed the Weapon-X Boost District High Capacity Heat Exchanger and it made a massive difference in keeping those IATs stable without needing a custom tune. Also, since you want more punch and presence, the Corsa Performance 3.0 Inch Axle-Back Exhaust System is incredible. It doesnt add huge HP on paper but the sound makes the car feel twice as aggressive. Dont worry tho, youll have a blast at Sebring even if you just focus on the cooling stuff first!
