I finally picked up my 2024 Silverado last week and man I am so pumped to get this thing kitted out! Since I'm up in Montana the first thing I started looking at were floor mats but I'm torn. I saw people rave about WeatherTech online but then a bunch of guys on another thread said the OEM Chevy liners actually cover more of the door sill? I also looked at center console organizers because that middle bin is basically a black hole but some reviews said they block the wireless charger. I've got about 500 bucks to spend right now and really want to keep the cabin looking mint while I'm out doing ranch work... what are the actual essentials you guys swear by?

Congrats on the new rig! Honestly if youre doing ranch work in Montana, those floor mats are priority number one. I compared the WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 All-Weather Floor Liners and the OEM ones are actually way better for mud. The Chevy liners have that high lip that goes over the sill so the dirt just slides right out when you brush it out. WeatherTech is classic but I feel like they get kinda slippery when they're wet. For that black hole console, grab the Vehicle OCD Chevy Silverado Center Console Organizer Tray. It fits like a glove and doesnt mess with my phone charging at all. It is like twenty bucks and saves so much frustration! Youll still have plenty of that 500 left for some solid seat covers too... definitely worth it.

I remember when I first started working cattle on my place, I thought mats were the end-all-be-all for interior cleanliness. Actually, it turned out I was wrong... within a month, my jeans had basically sanded the finish off the seat bolsters from sliding in and out with dirt on my pants. If you're doing ranch work, seat protection is just as vital as the floor. A couple of options worked well for me over the years:

  • Carhartt Precision Fit Seat Covers: These are basically the gold standard for ranching. They use heavy duck weave fabric so you can toss tools on the seat without a second thought, tho they are definitely at the top of your budget.
  • Rough Country Neoprene Seat Covers: A much cheaper alternative that feels softer to sit on, but they tend to soak up smells if they get wet or sweaty, so keep that in mind. One thing people always forget is the screen. With all that Montana dust, you're gonna be wiping that display constantly and grit will scratch it eventually. Putting a Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector for Silverado on right away was a smart move for me. It keeps the actual infotainment glass from getting micro-scratches, which really helps the cabin look brand new when it comes time to trade. The screen is one of the most expensive things in that cab, so thirty bucks for protection is a solid move.

There are tons of essentials you gotta get, but man this reminds me of when my cousin tried a budget build on his 2021. He spent his last five hundred on neon interior lights and a custom shift knob that didnt even fit.

  • Spent hours under dash
  • Blew a fuse twice
  • Still couldnt find his phone He never even got to the mats before he spilled a gallon of milk back there... total nightmare!

No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.
