With winter approaching, I’m nervous about road salt and slush destroying my Equinox's carpet. I've been looking at WeatherTech and Husky Liners, but I'm worried about which ones actually provide the best edge-to-edge coverage. Does anyone have experience with which brand stays in place better or is easier to spray clean? I’d love some real-world recommendations!
Sooo I went through this last year and honestly, after years of overpaying, I realized those big brands are like wayy too pricey. I ended up trying the OEDRO Floor Mats for 2018-2024 Chevrolet Equinox and they've been solid.
Here is how I saved some cash:
* Paid about $110 for the full set (way cheaper than $200+ for big names)
* They basically have the same high-wall coverage for slush
* Super easy to spray clean at the car wash
Idk if they'll last 10 years, but for the price, it works for me! gl with the salt haha
Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year and actually ended up looking at technical specs for TPE materials. While others like Husky are cool, I’ve been super happy with the 3D MAXpider Kagu Series Floor Liner.
So basically, here is why I dig them:
* The multi-layer semi-hard foam is way quieter than stiff plastic.
* Technical fit is insane... like, literally no gaps for salt to sneak through.
* The Maxpider fibers on the back grip the carpet better than spikes, imo.
I mean, they're a bit pricier, but honestly the look is so much more premium, you know?
Just sharing my experience: I went through this last year and was honestly paranoid about my feet slipping while driving in slushy boots. I looked at the ones mentioned, but safety was my top priority so I tried Smartliner Custom Fit Floor Mats for 2018-2024 Chevrolet Equinox.
Comparing them to the big names:
- **Smartliner vs WeatherTech**: Smartliner feels way less like hard plastic. It's actually got a bit of 'give' so your heel doesnt slide around when you're braking.
- **Grip**: They stay locked in place better than the cheaper universal sets I've used before.
Seriously, the edge-to-edge coverage is fantastic and they catch all the nasty salt! gl!
I've tried both in my Equinox and tbh it's a toss-up! WeatherTech has that *perfect* laser fit, but they can feel a bit stiff and slippery when wet. I think I actually prefer Husky Liners cuz the material is grippier and they have those little spikes on the bottom so they literally NEVER move. Both are super easy to spray clean at the car wash tho. Good luck!!
I've spent way too much dough testing mats in my Equinox over the years... definitely be careful with those super cheap universal ones tho. If they dont fit right, they can bunch up under the brake pedal which is straight up dangerous. You can get solid protection without spending 200 bucks if you look at some of the lesser known brands.
