Best aftermarket exhaust system for a Chevy Corvette C7?

I recently picked up a 2017 C7 Stingray, and while the car is incredible, the stock exhaust note feels a bit too muted for my taste. I’m looking to upgrade to something that really brings out that aggressive LT1 growl, but I’m worried about long-distance cabin drone. I definitely want to keep the NPP valve functionality so I don't annoy my neighbors too much in the mornings. I’ve been torn between the Borla Atak and the Corsa Xtreme, but I’d love to hear some real-world feedback on which one offers the best balance for a daily driver. Does anyone have a specific recommendation for a valved system that sounds mean but stays refined on the highway?

Honestly, I was so excited to upgrade my own Stingray, but I gotta say, my first experience was kinda disappointing. I went with a setup that I thought would be perfect, but unfortunately, the drone on the highway was just too much for me. I eventually swapped it for a valved system from Borla, and it's basically the best of both worlds. It sounds mean when you want it to, but it stays quiet enough for the neighbors... mostly!

Same boat, watching this

Ive messed around with Corvettes for years and honestly, while everyone jumps on the Borla bandwagon, I think youre missing out if you dont look at Billy Boat. I had the Billy Boat Fusion Exhaust for C7 Corvette on my last Stingray and the depth of the sound is just on another level compared to the Atak. Borla is loud, sure, but B&B has this low-end grunt that makes the LT1 sound like a proper monster without that raspy tin-can noise at high RPMs. Quick tips for the install:

  • Grab some Design Engineering DEI Exhaust Wrap if youre worried about heat near the transmission.
  • Make sure you cycle the NPP valves via the infotainment before you bolt everything down tight to ensure clearance. Just my two cents, but the B&B Fusion keeps the stealth mode actually stealthy while sounding much more 'exotic' when wide open... makes the car feel more expensive than it is tbh.

Honestly I'm in the same boat trying to figure out if it's even worth the big price tag because those valved systems are sooo expensive like I think I saw some for over $2k which is a lot for just a bit more noise... I'm still a newbie with this stuff so I've been pretty cautious about jumping in but here is what I’ve been worried about: • I heard from a guy at a car meet that the labor costs can be pretty high because the rear bumper has to come off and I’m scared the shop might break those plastic clips or something so that adds to the total bill.
• IIRC you can sometimes find people selling their setups used on Marketplace for way cheaper but I’m not sure if that's a good idea or if the valves end up rattling after a while? Is that a thing?
• Tbh I also wonder about the warranty since I just got my car and I don't want to do anything that might mess that up or lower the resale value if I decide to sell it later. Does it really add that much value to the car or are you basically just paying for the sound? I'm trying to be budget conscious but I also don't want to buy something cheap that sounds like junk.

Man I went through this exact struggle last year with my Stingray! I ended up pulling the trigger on the Borla ATAK Cat-Back Exhaust System with NPP Valves and I honestly love it so much. It sounds absolutely insane when you floor it but ngl it basically disappears when youre just cruising on the freeway which is exactly what I needed. One thing tho... make sure youre careful during the install with the NPP actuators. If you dont align them perfectly they can rattle or throw a code later on and thats a huge pain to fix once everythings bolted up. I actually had a buddy who messed his up and had to take the whole thing apart again. Definitely use some high-temp grease on the valve hinges too to keep them moving smooth for years! It keeps the system reliable so you arent dealing with stuck valves in two years.
