The dash has that specific curved design and the vertical vent slats feel a bit flimsy for my heavy iPhone 14 Pro Max. I went through this last year with my Malibu. I tried a cheap vent clip first, but like you said, those slats are just too flimsy for a heavy phone. I eventually compared two different setups:
