Hey everyone! I just finally took delivery of my new C8 Z06, and man, that LT6 engine sounds absolutely incredible. While it’s already a beast from the factory, I’m looking to squeeze out a bit more performance, specifically for weekend track days. I’ve been researching high-flow catalytic converters to really let that flat-plane crank scream, and I'm also considering some lightweight forged wheels to shed a bit of unsprung weight. I’m a little nervous about how the locked ECU handles modifications, so I’m mainly looking for proven bolt-on upgrades. For those of you who have already started modding your Z, what’s the best 'bang for your buck' upgrade for better lap times?

Quick question - are you planning on running slicks or staying on factory rubber? Before I give advice, I gotta know cuz it totally changes your safety needs. Compare GiroDisc 2-Piece Slotted Brake Rotors (A1-224) vs Essex AP Racing Radi-CAL Competition Brake Kit (Front CP9668). GiroDiscs are a cheaper heat fix, but the APs are the gold standard for total safety. Id skip power mods and focus on stopping first!! gl

Respectfully, I'd consider another option before dropping big money on wheels. Tbh, the best bang for buck for lap times is basically free: - An aggressive Track Alignment (specs are in the factory manual!)
- BMC High Performance Air Filter FB01104 — costs about $180 and it's a super easy install. Honestly, ur probably better off spending that money on more track fees... gl!

Yo, congrats on the delivery! That LT6 is literally a masterpiece. Honestly, i get the itch to mod, but since that ECU is locked tight, you gotta be super cautious. I’ve seen owners throw CEL codes even with 'no-tune' cats... it’s a total headache. Here is how I compare the best track upgrades: * **Option A: Exhaust/Power**: Fabspeed High-Flow Sport Catalytic Converters sound incredible, but pros/cons are tricky—it sounds great, but lap time gains are minimal without a tune.
* **Option B: Unsprung Weight**: I suggest Forgeline GS1R Forged Monoblock Wheels. Pros: better turn-in and braking. Cons: expensive.
* **Option C: Braking Consistency**: Switch to Ferodo Racing DS3.12 Brake Pads and Castrol SRF React Racing Brake Fluid. **Best Choice:** Focus on Option B and C first. You want reliability when pushing 670hp on a hot track. Make sure to consult a tech about ur warranty before touching the exhaust. gl!!

Be CAREFUL with cats, that locked ECU pulls timing. My buddy wasted cash and lost power. Quick question: what tracks are you hitting? Dont chase sound over performance... total waste of money.
