Hey everyone! I just finally took delivery of my new Equinox EV and I'm absolutely loving the ride so far. The interior feels really modern and spacious, but I’ve already noticed a few spots that might need some extra protection or better organization to keep it looking brand new. Since this is such a fresh model on the market, I’m trying to figure out which accessories are actually worth the investment right away.
I’m particularly concerned about that massive infotainment screen and the piano black trim—does anyone recommend a specific tempered glass screen protector that fits perfectly without losing touch sensitivity? Also, the storage area under the floating center console is great, but it feels like a bit of a 'catch-all' where things just slide around. Are there any custom-fit organizers or silicone liners available yet that you guys have tried?
Lastly, I’m debating between the official Chevy all-weather floor liners or waiting for something like TuxMat or WeatherTech to release their versions. I want to keep the cabin pristine, especially with kids and coffee runs! For those of you who have had yours for a bit, what are the absolute 'day one' interior upgrades you’d recommend for organization and protection?
Seconding the recommendation above. Glare on that huge screen can literally be a safety hazard while driving, so tbh I always go matte to stay safe. - Get the ScreenProTech Chevy Equinox EV Interior Protection Kit for the screen and trim.
- Try 3D MAXpider Kagu Series All-Weather Floor Mats for the floors. In my experience, those mats have the best grip so they wont ever slide under ur pedals... gl!
ok so i saw this earlier and definitely wanted to share my experience since ive been tinkering with my Equinox EV for a bit now. tbh, ive had some issues with the accessories i bought first... it was kinda a waste of money unfortunately. Here is what I recommend based on my trial and error: 1. The Screen: Seriously, that massive display is a fingerprint magnet. I tried a cheap PET film first and it was a disaster—bubbles everywhere and it felt sticky. Stay away from those. I eventually swapped to the Spigen Glas.tR Slim Tempered Glass Screen Protector for 17.7-inch Infotainment and the clarity is actually great, tho the install is still nerve-wracking cuz of the sheer size of it. 2. Console Organization: That floating space is literally a mess without help. I tried a random silicone liner but it was way too flimsy and kept curling at the edges. I'm using the BestEvMod Under Console Storage Organizer Tray for Equinox EV now. It's better and fits the geometry well, but honestly, the plastic feels a bit cheap for the price. It does stop my phone and keys from sliding around tho, so it's worth it for the sanity. 3. Floor Mats: Im super disappointed with the Chevrolet Equinox EV All-Weather Floor Liners. I bought them day one, but the walls arent high enough to catch real spills or mud from the kids. If you can wait a few more weeks, I would highkey suggest holding out for the TuxMat Custom Floor Mats for Chevrolet Equinox EV... their coverage is usually way superior for winter slush. Basically, dont rush into the official Chevy stuff just cuz it's available. Some of it feels a bit rushed imo. Anyway, hope this helps you avoid my mistakes! gl!
So I just found this thread and honestly, ur gonna want to check out some of the Equinox EV owner groups on Facebook for DIY tips. Basically, you can save a ton by going with generic brands on Amazon or sites like AliExpress. * Just get any TPU film for the piano black * Go with some cheap silicone inserts for that console space I'm super satisfied with my budget setup so far, works well without the markup!!
> I’m particularly concerned about that massive infotainment screen and the piano black trim... Are there any custom-fit organizers or silicone liners available yet that you guys have tried? For your situation, I would suggest grabbing a screen protector and microfiber cloths immediately. Honestly, I'm kinda in the same boat with my Equinox EV. For that under-console spot, I'm not 100% sure if the "perfect" custom liner exists yet because the car is so fresh, but iirc I saw some generic-fit silicone mats on Amazon that might work for now. You gotta be careful with that piano black tho; I noticed it scratches if you even look at it wrong... seriously. I tried a tempered glass protector and touch sensitivity was basically fine, but the glare was brutal. Regarding the mats, I'm holding out for TuxMat. The official Chevy liners are okay but they dont cover the carpet behind the pedals well enough, you know? But yeah, definitely grab some high-gsm cloths for the dust. Gl!
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
To add to the point above: the technical specs for that infotainment unit are interesting, but I'm curious, do you have the sunroof or the fixed roof? Glare levels change significantly depending on the glass overhead in my experience, which really dictates if you need a matte or high-gloss finish. Honestly, there's some talk that the touch capacitance on these newer GM screens is pretty sensitive to glass thickness. Not sure but iirc some folks mentioned phantom touches when using the thicker tempered options. Have you checked if your cargo area has the level floor or the recessed well yet? Still trying to find out if the sub-trunk liners for the EV are a unique mold... it would suck to get the wrong mats due to a floor pan variation.
