Which phone mount fits best in the 2024 Chevy Trax interior?

Hey everyone! I just picked up a 2024 Chevy Trax and I’m absolutely loving the new interior design, but I’m having a hard time figuring out where to put my phone. The dashboard has that sleek, asymmetrical layout and the massive touchscreen takes up a lot of real estate, which makes finding a flat surface for an adhesive mount pretty tricky.

I’ve looked at the air vents, but they have that distinct circular/turbine shape on the sides and a slim horizontal style in the middle, and I’m worried a heavy phone might damage the slats or just won't clip on securely. I really want to avoid blocking the infotainment screen or the digital instrument cluster if possible. I’ve considered a cup holder mount, but I don't want to sacrifice my storage space for drinks.

Has anyone found a specific brand or model that fits the 2024 Trax perfectly without looking cluttered? I'm curious if a suction mount actually sticks to the textured dash material or if I should look into those custom-fit brackets that clip onto the trim. What are you guys using to keep your phone secure and visible for navigation?

Ok so, honestly, after years of trying every mount under the sun, for the 2024 Trax you highkey gotta get the A-Tach Mounts Vehicle Specific Custom Dash Mount 2024 Chevrolet Trax. It clips right onto the trim so it wont damage your vents or block the screen, and it’s seriously sturdy!! Definitely worth the extra cash over a basic suction cup that'll just fall off the textured dash anyway lol.

Honestly, after driving for over 15 years and trying basically every mount style out there, I really think safety and visibility should be your top priority in a new car like the Trax. I've seen way too many people ruin their vents or have a suction mount fall off while they're driving on the highway—it's actually super dangerous. Since the Trax dash has that weird textured material, most suction cups just won't stay put long-term, and I totally agree that blocking the infotainment screen is a huge no-go.

For your situation, if you want something that feels integrated and won't damage the interior, I'd suggest looking at the WeatherTech CupFone Universal Adjustable Portable Cup Holder Cell Phone Mount. I know you mentioned not wanting to lose a cup holder, but honestly, it's the most stable option if you want to avoid clipping things to those delicate turbine vents.

Another really solid choice that I've used in similar Chevy interiors is the iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dash & Windshield Universal Car Mount. If you decide to go the suction route, make sure you use the sticky gel pad it comes with because it's specifically designed for those textured dashboards. Just make sure you mount it far enough to the left so it doesn't overlap the screen! Personally, I think the custom-fit brackets are the safest bet for keeping your eyes near the road without risking ur trim. Good luck with the new ride, it's a great car! 👍

Honestly, I was sooo worried about the turbine vents in my new Trax cuz they feel kinda delicate. I tried a cheap vent clip and it literally started sagging immediately—scary stuff. For a safer bet, check out the ProClip Center Mount 855941. It’s way more secure since it clips to the dash frame, not the slats. Just be careful with those textured surfaces tho, most suction cups wont stick for long! 👍
