so i am totally panicking because we leave for our big florida road trip in six days and i still havent protected the floors of our new pacifica. i am basically torn between the weathertech floor mats and those tuxmat ones i keep seeing. my logic was that weathertech is the safe bet but tuxmat looks like it covers way more of the carpet which is a life saver with three messy kids. but the budget is super tight after buying the van so i am stuck. also thinking about getting those drop stop gap fillers because i already lost my keys twice today. should i spring for the tuxmats or just get the weathertechs and some cheap seat organizers instead?

i went through the same panic when we got our van last year. ended up going with the WeatherTech FloorLiner Floor Mats mostly because theyve been around forever and the fit is really reliable for long trips. i once had a whole bottle of apple juice spill back there and it just pooled in the liner instead of soaking the carpet. saved me a huge cleaning bill. tuxmat looks nice but i was worried about the clips holding up long-term. if your budget is tight maybe grab the weathertechs and some Drop Stop Seat Gap Filler pieces. i bought those after losing my phone under the seat while driving and it was a total safety hazard trying to fish it out... they basically paid for themselves. quick tip: make sure you vacuum the carpet really well before you install any liners so no grit rubs underneath.

@Reply #2 - good point! Honestly, if the budget is tight, you dont need the priciest brands. I've been super satisfied with SMARTLINER Custom Fit Floor Mats for Chrysler Pacifica. They catch all the crumbs and juice spills just fine. Also look at these cheaper additions:

Building on the earlier suggestion, i actually went with the Mopar All-Weather Floor Mats Chrysler Pacifica after trying a few others. I found that a lot of the high-wall liners actually mess with the stow n go seats because the tracks need clearance to slide properly. I had a generic set once that kept getting caught in the hinge and it was a total nightmare trying to fold the seats down with three kids waiting in the rain. The OEM ones just fit the mechanics of the van better than anything else ive tried. If you want that premium look without the price of the boutique brands, VIWIK Floor Mats for Chrysler Pacifica are a decent mid-range option that i tried in my brothers van. They dont feel as slippery as the old-school rubber ones. Also, for the key issue, i grabbed the Amooca Car Seat Gap Filler because it blends into the black seats better than most. Its way cheaper than the name brand ones and basically does the same thing. Just make sure whatever mats you get dont block the heat vents under the front seats or your passengers in the back are gonna freeze during the winter.

Like someone mentioned, budget is a factor, but I was honestly disappointed with the fit of those safe bet brands. They always seem to curl at the edges and catch the seat tracks, which is a huge reliability issue when you are trying to move seats. If you want something that actually stays flat and safe, grab 3D MAXpider Kagu Floor Mats Chrysler Pacifica. TL;DR: Curling mats are dangerous; 3D MAXpider is much better for the Pacifica.
