What are the best things to buy to keep the inside of my new Dodge Hornet from getting ruined? Sorry if this is a super basic question but this is actually the first brand new car I have ever owned and I am kind of panicking about keeping it clean. I just picked it up yesterday and it has those pretty seats with the red accents and I just know I am gonna spill coffee or something. I live up in the Pacific Northwest so its constantly raining and muddy and I have a big golden retriever who goes everywhere with me so the hair is already starting to pile up on the carpet. I looked online for floor mats but there are so many options like weathertech and husky and some random ones on amazon and I have no idea if they actually fit right or if they are worth the money. Also do people actually use those seat covers? I dont want to hide the cool seats but I also dont want them covered in mud and dog hair after one week. My budget is probably around 350 dollars for now because the car payment was a lot more than I expected lol. Should I be looking at sprays too or just physical covers? I'm just really lost with all the options out there...
Building on the earlier suggestion, I actually have to respectfully disagree on those liners! For PNW mud, you should check out Husky Liners WeatherBeater Floor Mats because the coverage is way more secure for safety, tbh.
Coming back to this after thinking about your dog situation... Honestly, safety is the number one thing people overlook when they go for the cheap stuff. I've tried many different setups over the years and the biggest hazard is a floor mat that slides around under your pedals. Its genuinely terrifying when a mat bunches up while you're trying to brake. Since you're in the PNW and have a big golden retriever, here is what I'd actually do to keep it safe and clean:
Ive tried many liners and you definitely need WeatherTech FloorLiner HP Dodge Hornet for that mud.
Cleaning hair out of Hornet carpet is honestly a nightmare, its basically impossible tbh.
