Ive been wrenching on Hemis for years but my 2022 R/T has this weird throttle lag even with a tuner. Got 2k to spend before track season in June for some real gains.

  • better low end torque
  • something that wont kill my warranty
  • exhaust suggestions?

What mods actually give a seat-of-the-pants difference on these newer ones?

@Reply 1 - good point! tho controllers just mask lag without adding torque imo. These options are decent for warranty:

Honestly that lag is the first thing I noticed on my R/T too. Tbh it feels like the car is thinking about moving instead of just doing it. I spent months trying to tweak settings on my tuner and it never felt quite right until I just went with a dedicated controller. It didnt give me more horsepower on paper but the seat-of-the-pants feel changed completely... felt like a different car at stoplights. For your budget and the warranty stuff, I would stick to basics that swap out easily:

  • A throttle controller to kill that delay instantly.
  • A decent cat-back that doesnt drone on the highway.
  • A high-flow air filter for a tiny bit more breathability. I ended up installing the Pedal Commander PC31 Throttle Response Controller and it was probably the best 300 bucks I spent for daily driving. For the exhaust, I went with the Borla S-Type Cat-Back Exhaust 140627 5.7L Hemi. It is kinda pricey but it doesnt mess with the sensors or the warranty since it is all post-cat. The sound is way deeper without being obnoxious when you are just cruising. Basically gives you that muscle feel without the dealership breathing down your neck. Just keep the stock parts in the garage just in case you ever need to swap back for service... you never know with some dealers.

My buddy told me the exact same thing last week. Guess he was right lol.
