Which cargo organizers work best for the Dodge Journey's trunk?

I’m struggling to keep my groceries from sliding around in my Dodge Journey. Between the hidden floor compartment and the limited space when the third row is up, I need something versatile. Has anyone found a specific brand or collapsible bin that fits perfectly in that recessed cargo area without shifting?

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, i've had my Journey for ages and the best way to save money is using a basic Star Brite Collapsible 5 Gallon Utility Bucket or even those cheap InstaCrate Collapsible 12 Gallon Storage Crate units from Costco... they're basically perfect for that weird recessed floor gap and dont cost a fortune.

For your situation, i've been driving a Journey for over 8 years and honestly, the trunk space is the most frustrating part of the car. I've tried a few setups that actually fit that weird narrow gap when the 3rd row is up.

1. Drive Auto Car Trunk Organizer vs. Starling's Car Trunk Organizer Adjustable.
- The Drive Auto one is great cuz it has these tie-down straps that hook into the Journey's floor loops, so it literally cannot slide around.
- Unfortunately, the Starling's model felt a bit too bulky for the recessed area iirc, and it kinda blocked the hatch from latching properly unless it was totally empty.

2. TrunkCrrate Pro Collapsible Multi Compartment Black.
- I've had issues with cheaper bins collapsing, but this one is solid. It fits perfectly in the deep well without hitting the back of the seats.

Honestly, most "universal" ones are too wide, so definitely check the dimensions before buying tho. gl! 👍

Ok so, i feel u on this one. The Journey is basically a puzzle box with that tiny recessed area behind the third row. In my experience, you gotta be cautious cuz if you get something too big, it wont sit flush and the hatch will keep hitting it, which is seriously annoying. Background info for anyone new: that recessed floor is deep but narrow, so you need a solution that wont slide around and damage the interior trim.

For your situation, i would suggest looking at the Starling's Car Trunk Organizer Adjustable 3 Compartments. It's actually a lifesaver cuz it has these tie-down straps that hook into the Journey's floor loops. Honestly, it fits that recessed area highkey well. If youre on a budget, you can usually find these for like $30-$40 on sale, which is a decent option compared to the $150+ OEM Mopar stuff.

Another budget-focused move i use is the Fortem Car Trunk Organizer with Collapsible Cover. It has a non-slip bottom which is CRITICAL cuz the Journey floor carpet is kinda slick. Basically, it stays put even when the third row is up and you're taking corners. Just a heads up tho, always double-check that the hidden floor compartment lid is fully latched before setting the bin down... i once had it pop open while driving and it was a mess. But yeah, sticking to the $30 range is totally doable. gl! 👍
