stuck between the VBOX HD2 and the Garmin Catalyst for my 296 Challenge. hitting Monza in three weeks and my logic was the vbox is pro but the garmin is just way easier. budget is tight after buying the car lol so which one is the actual must-have? or is a coolshirt more important...
I have been very satisfied with the Garmin Catalyst Driving Performance Optimizer. It is basically the better choice for a tight budget because you dont need a data engineer to read it.
Saw this earlier but just now responding. @Reply #2 - good point! Honestly, you really have to be careful with the VBOX route. While the VBOX Video HD2 HDMI Dual Camera is incredible for overlaying Ferrari CAN data, it takes a massive amount of time to configure correctly. If you arent comfortable with data analysis, it might just end up being a distraction. I would suggest looking at the AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport as a middle ground. It integrates well with the 296 factory logger and the software is a bit more manageable for most people. Also, Monza is gonna be baking in three weeks. Make sure to check your power draw if you go for an electric cooler like the Chillout Systems Quantum Pro Cooler... those new hybrid electronics are super sensitive. Just want to make sure you dont brick anything before your first session!
Jumping in here... I once spent half my track day fiddling with wires on my AiM Solo 2 DL instead of actually racing. Be careful, those pro setups can really eat your morning.
