For Ford Explorer ST I would also consider the brand. Do you need OEM or aftermarket?

Honestly I am so paranoid about safety when it comes to hauling stuff on the roof! I spent weeks researching because the thought of a rack failing on the interstate is literally my worst nightmare. My current setup is great but I still obsess over every little detail.

  • always do a shake test before driving
  • check the clearance in my garage (learned that the hard way)
  • double wrap the straps One time I was driving up to the mountains and heard this massive thud... thought for sure I lost everything. Turns out it was just a loose strap flapping against the window but I nearly had a heart attack! Now I stop and check everything at every gas station. Anyway, safety first always!
