Which performance accessories are best for the Mustang Dark Horse?

Hey everyone! I finally took delivery of my Mustang Dark Horse recently, and man, this car is an absolute beast right out of the box. The Gen-4 Coyote engine sounds incredible, and the factory tuning feels really sharp, but I’m already thinking about how to take it to the next level.

I’m planning on hitting the track a few times this season, so I want to focus on accessories that actually improve performance rather than just looks. Since mine came with the Handling Package, I’ve already got the stickier Trofeo RS tires and the adjustable strut mounts, but I’m wondering if there are other 'must-have' additions for this specific platform. I’ve been looking into getting a high-quality oil separator to keep things clean during high-RPM runs, and I’m also considering upgrading to more aggressive brake pads for better heat management on the circuit.

I’m trying to keep things relatively warranty-friendly for now, so I'm avoiding heavy engine tunes. Has anyone experimented with aftermarket cooling mods or lightweight chassis bracing yet? For those of you who have already started tracking yours, what specific performance accessories would you prioritize first to really unlock the Dark Horse's potential?

So basically the consensus is that the Dark Horse is already a track weapon, but managing heat and oil is the priority for long sessions. To sum up what's been said: get an oil separator for peace of mind and keep an eye on those brakes. Late to the party but I've been doing some market research on S650-specific components recently. From a technical perspective, if ur really trying to unlock the chassis without voiding ur warranty, I'd look into the Steeda S650 Mustang Extreme G-Trac K-Member Brace. It ties the subframe to the body much more effectively than the factory stamped piece. In my experience, this helps keep ur alignment geometry way more consistent under high G-loads... honestly, you'll feel the difference in steering precision immediately. Also, since heat was a big concern in earlier replies, I'd suggest checking out the Mishimoto S650 Mustang Performance Aluminum Radiator. It increases core volume significantly over the stock unit, which is highkey necessary if you’re doing 20+ minute sessions in the summer. If ur worried about those sticky Trofeo RS tires throwing rocks and trashing ur fenders, definitely grab the ZL1 Addons Mustang S650 Deluxe Rock Guards. They’re simple to install and save ur paint. Regarding the brakes—I know the Loc R16s were already mentioned, but for a really aggressive bite, Hawk Performance DTC-70 Brake Pads are incredible if u don't mind the noise and dust. Just catching up on this thread after a long day... basically, I feel u on wanting to keep the warranty intact while hitting the track. Over the years, I've seen too many guys blow through their budget on flashy parts that dont actually help lap times. Tbh, the Dark Horse is already dialed in, so you gotta be careful not to mess up that factory balance. You might find this useful - check out the technical sub-forums on Mustang7G or the track-spec guides over at Steeda. They have some great data-backed resources for the S650 platform that focus on actual performance metrics rather than just dyno numbers. If ur looking for high value without breaking the bank, here is what I would prioritize: 1. High-temp Fluid: Before swapping pads, get some Castrol SRF React Racing Brake Fluid. In my experience, stock fluid is the first thing to fail when things get hot. It is a cheap way to ensure ur pedal doesnt go soft mid-corner.
2. Brake Pads: Since you already have the Handling Pack, look into G-Loc R16 Track Front Brake Pads for the front. They handle heat way better than the stock Brembo stuff while keeping the OEM calipers.
3. Oil Management: Definitely grab a J&L OSC Oil Separator 3.0 Passenger Side. It is literally essential for the Gen-4 Coyote to keep oil blow-by out of the intake during high-RPM runs. Similar situation here - saw ur post earlier and had to jump in!! I hit the track with mine last month and honestly, I was worried about heat too. I started with a really simple oil separator I found for around $150 and it's basically peace of mind for those high RPMs. Also noticed my current setup with some basic bracing helped the front end feel sooo much sharper. Ngl, it feels amazing and I love it!!
