Are there custom cargo nets available for the Genesis GV70?

Hey everyone! I recently took delivery of my Genesis GV70 and I’m absolutely loving the interior quality, but I’ve run into a bit of a practical issue with the cargo area. The trunk floor is pretty slick, and every time I take a corner, my groceries or gym bag end up sliding all over the place. It’s actually getting a bit annoying hearing things thud against the side panels.

I’ve looked at the universal nets sold at big-box retailers, but I’m worried they won't fit the specific mounting points or might look a bit cheap in such a nice cabin. I’m really looking for something that fits the dimensions of the GV70 perfectly—ideally something that uses the existing tie-down hooks without leaving a bunch of loose slack. Does anyone know if there are high-quality aftermarket custom nets designed specifically for this model, or should I just bite the bullet and get the official one from the dealership? If you've bought one, how is the tension and does it hold larger items securely? Any recommendations on brands or specific links would be a huge help!

Oh man, I totally get it!! I honestly felt the same way when I got my GV70. For your situation, I would suggest just sticking with the official Genesis stuff. I mean, the interior is so nice, you dont wanna ruin the vibe with a cheap universal net that doesnt fit right. I went with the official brand cargo net and its literally amazing... super high tension and keeps everything secure. Better safe than sorry, you know? gl!

For your situation, I'd say safety is the big concern here—you don't want a heavy gym bag becoming a projectile if you have to slam on the brakes! Basically, you have two paths:

* **OEM Dealer Nets:** Definately the safest bet for tension and fitment, but pricey.
* **High-end Aftermarket:** Look at brands like WeatherTech or Enovoe. They usually have better hooks than the cheap big-box stuff.

Honestly, I would suggest going with a custom-fit brand over a universal one just to ensure those mounting points stay secure. Safe driving! 👍

Sooo, I actually went through this last year when I first got my GV70. Before I found a fix, I basically had to learn that not all nets are created equal... it really matters how they handle tension. I started out being super cheap and tried a Trunkguy Universal Heavy Duty Cargo Net 30x40 Inch, but honestly, it was a disaster. The hooks were so flimsy I was WORRIED they’d snap and fly into the trim if I hit a bump!!

I then tried a slightly better JOYTUTUS Floor Style Trunk Cargo Net for SUV which had better clips, but it was still a bit too loose for our specific floor anchors. It’s kinda a trade-off: the universal ones save you money but they feel sketchy, whereas the tighter-fitting ones feel safer but cost way more. I guess I was just really cautious about the cheap plastic hooks failing and scratching the interior. It’s basically a lesson in tension—if it’s too loose, things still slide, but if it’s too tight, you might break the mounting points. Just sharing my journey cuz I definitely learned that saving a few bucks might not be worth the headache of a net that doesnt actually hold anything down tight...

Quick question—before I dive into the technical side, can you clarify if you have the optional cargo tray or just the standard carpet back there? It actually makes a huge difference for how the hooks tension up.

I've been messing with cargo setups for years and honestly, the floor on the GV70 is pretty slick. If you want something that fits like a glove without the dealer markup, you should look into the Envelope Style Trunk Cargo Net for Genesis GV70. I've found that the envelope style is way better than the flat ones because it basically acts like a hammock for your bags. Most of the high-quality aftermarket ones use the exact same mounting clips as the Genuine Genesis GV70 Cargo Net, but they tend to have slightly more elastic tension which is actually better for keeping heavy gym bags from shifting. But yeah, let me know about that floor mat situation cuz it affects which clips you'll need to access!

Tbh, I’ve seen this a lot with the GV70 because the floor materials are designed more for aesthetics than friction. Before I suggest a specific DIY fix, could you clarify if your trim has the recessed cargo rails or just the fixed D-ring tie-down points? It basically changes the whole geometry for how you’d anchor a custom solution and affects the tensile strength needed for the hardware. If you’re okay with a bit of a DIY setup, I’d actually recommend looking into the Canvasback Cargo Liner. It’s custom-cut to the GV70's dimensions and provides a much higher coefficient of friction than the factory floor, which stops the sliding before you even need a net. If you definitely want a net for taller items, check out the KIMBLADE Heavy Duty Cargo Webbing. Unlike the stretchy bungee-style nets most people buy, this uses high-tensile nylon webbing that meets much higher safety standards for load retention. It’s SO much better for securing a heavy gym bag if you have to swerve suddenly. Just make sure whatever you buy uses steel carabiners rather than plastic clips—safety first, right?

Honestly it is so ridiculous that we even have to deal with this on a luxury vehicle. You spend 50k plus and the cargo floor has the friction coefficient of a skating rink, it drives me crazy hearing my gear thud against the wheel wells every time I take a corner. It is such a scam that the manufacturer doesnt include a high-tension net from the factory.

  • Most hardware these days is cheap molded plastic that feels like it will snap under any real load.
  • Prices for basic elastic cordage have been marked up like 300 percent for no reason.
  • The hook geometry on the GV70 is just weird enough to make standard bungee setups look like a mess. I have been trying to DIY my own mounting system because the quality of everything on the market has gone downhill so fast. It is honestly exhausting trying to find gear that matches the specs of the car without being ripped off by the dealer. Sucks that we are stuck solving these basic engineering oversights ourselves.
