Just picked up a G90 Black Edition and it looks incredible, but I want to add some subtle personal touches. I’m considering high-end ceramic tint and perhaps some discreet carbon fiber accents to match the dark theme. Does anyone have specific brand recommendations for the G90? What exterior accessories have you guys added to elevate the look?

For your situation, I would suggest looking at value-focused mods that don't break the bank. Since it's a Black Edition, sticking to that dark vibe is key. Here is what I recommend:

- WeatherTech FloorLiner HP - Honestly a must for keeping the interior mint without spending a fortune.
- Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Paste Wax - It's cheap and makes the black paint literally GLOW.
- ZIZA LED Interior Lighting Kit - A decent option to brighten the cabin for cheap.

Basically, focus on the details that keep it looking sharp daily!

yo, congrats on the G90!! honestly love that car so much. for your situation, i would suggest looking at mirror caps to match those carbon fiber vibes safely. comparing AutoTecknic Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers vs cheaper stick-on versions, the AutoTecknic ones are basically way better for long-term fitment and wont fly off on the highway lol. also, i mean, have you thought about Sylvania ZEVO LED Fog Light Bulbs? they increase visibility like crazy and look amazing with the dark theme... totally worth it for the extra safety tbh! gl!

Honestly, be careful with cheap carbon bits... I've had issues with fitment before. I'd skip the trunk lip and look into LUMASOL Stealth Paint Protection Film for the chrome trim instead. Much cleaner vibe.

sooo i actually did the same thing with mine last year and ngl, it's worth every penny. For your situation, I would suggest comparing these two tint options cuz they basically change the whole vibe.

I went with XPEL PRIME XR PLUS Nano-Ceramic Window Tint because it has insane heat rejection, though it's a bit pricey. Another solid choice is 3M Crystalline Series Ceramic Tint which is great if you want high clarity without it being too dark.

For the trim, I've tried many and ADRO Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler for Genesis G90 is literally the best fitment I've seen. Honestly, the ceramic tint is the real MVP for that murdered-out look, right?

Re: "Just saw this thread and it is sooo..." - cool to see more G90 owners focused on the fine details. Most of the guys here covered the basics like XPEL and mirror caps, but for long-term ownership, you gotta address the paint chemistry itself. Black paint is basically a magnet for micro-marring, even from just drying it with a towel. In my experience, you need to look at these technical additions to really preserve that deep finish:

  • Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra 10H Ceramic Coating
  • Unlike consumer waxes, this forms a hard chemical bond that actually resists swirl marks on a molecular level.
  • CarPro IronX LS Lemon Scent Iron Remover
  • Essential for chemical decontamination before you add any styling mods so you arent sealing in iron particles.
  • McGard Black Chrome Wheel Installation Kit M14x1.5
  • Swapping the factory silver lugs for these makes the Black Edition wheels look way more cohesive. The 10H hardness rating on the Gtechniq is basically the gold standard for resisting those tiny scratches that ruin black cars over time. I have tried many products over the years and found that even the best PPF usually benefits from a ceramic top coat for better hydrophobicity and chemical resistance.

Just saw this thread and it is sooo cool to see more G90 Black owners. Basically everyone here is saying that subtle is better, which I totally agree with. I have had mine for a while now and my personal experience is that the black paint is a full time job lol. I am still kinda new to the whole technical side of detailing but I spent way too much time researching the microns and thickness of the protective layers I got. I was reallyyy worried about the finish getting dull. What I learned over the last year is that the way the dark trim handles heat is actually super important. I noticed some slight fading on the edges of my setup after a hot summer, so maybe check the heat ratings on whatever you add? A few things I have noticed long-term:

  • the dark wheels show every single scratch if you are not careful
  • water spots are basically a nightmare on this specific paint
  • the carbon bits I added have held up okay but they get way hotter than the metal I am still learning the ropes but honestly it is such a beautiful car to work on. Does anyone else feel like the black finish is a bit more sensitive than other colors? I am still trying to get my head around the best way to keep it mint without driving myself crazy.
