Best window tint percentage for a sleek Genesis look?

I just picked up a 2024 Genesis G80 in Vik Black, and I’m looking to give it that polished, executive look. I’m currently debating between 20% all around or doing a staggered setup with 35% on the front windows to stay closer to legal limits. Since the interior is the lighter Dune Beige, I’m worried the tint might look lighter than it actually is. I want that sleek, cohesive aesthetic without making it impossible to see during night driving. For those of you with a G70 or G80, what percentage did you go with to get that perfect balance of privacy and style? Also, did you find that ceramic tint changed the look compared to standard film?

So basically the consensus is that while 20% looks incredible on the Vik Black G80, it's a bit of a gamble depending on where you drive. To sum up what's been said: some people love the total blackout look, but others have pointed out that night visibility and rain can make it *actually* dangerous. Since you've got that Dune Beige interior, it's definitely gonna pull more light and make any tint look about 5-10% lighter than it is.

From a safety-first perspective, I'd suggest looking at 3M Crystalline Automotive Window Film 40 or LLumar FormulaOne Pinnacle Ceramic 35%. They give you that executive vibe without making it impossible to see pedestrians at night. Honestly, 35% is the sweet spot for me because:

* Better visibility in low-light/bad weather
* Less likely to get pulled over
* Still looks cohesive with the black paint

I'm pretty happy with a lighter ceramic setup because it blocks the heat way better than standard film anyway. Good luck with the new ride! 👍

Hmm, I've had a different experience when it comes to the staggered look. Respectfully, I'd consider another option because mismatched percentages can sometimes mess with the G80's clean body lines, especially in Vik Black. From a market research perspective, many high-end detailers are moving away from the old-school charcoal films and toward high-index ceramics because the color stability is way better.

Instead of 20%, maybe look into LLumar FormulaOne Stratos 30 or Huper Optik Select Series Drei. These aren't your basic films; they use multi-layered nano-ceramics that give a more neutral, "European" charcoal finish rather than that blue/purple tint you see on cheaper setups. Honestly, a high-quality 30% all around usually hits that sweet spot where the Dune Beige interior doesn't make it look too light, but you still get that executive privacy. It basically keeps the car looking sophisticated rather than just 'blacked out.' Plus, the heat rejection on the Stratos is seriouslyyy impressive for the price. good luck!!

yo, congrats on the G80! honestly, 20% all around is the way to go. i did that with XPEL PRIME XR PLUS Ceramic Window Tint and it looks sooo sleek. since u have the beige seats, it actually makes the 20% look more like 30% anyway... pretty much perfect imo. carbon film is cheaper but ceramic is totally worth it for the heat rejection. i paid like $450 total, which is way better than the $700 some shops quote!! gl!

Seconding the recommendation above for sure! Ngl, the light interior really does change the game. I basically went through the same dilemma with my last car and ended up doing 35% in the front with 20% in the back to save a few bucks while staying legal.

Honestly, the staggered look was okay, but it kinda bothered me that it wasn't uniform from the side. On my current setup, I just bit the bullet and did 20% all around. Since you have the Dune Beige, it actually lets enough light in that it doesn't look totally blacked out or sketchy at night, but you still get that executive vibe. Plus, going with a high-end film—even if it costs a bit more upfront—is sooo worth it for the heat rejection alone. If you're budget-conscious, maybe ask the shop if they have any deals for doing the whole car at once? It's usually cheaper than doing it in stages lol.

Respectfully, I'd consider another option because 20% can be a total nightmare at night, especially in the rain. I tried that on my last car and honestly regretted it cuz I had to roll my windows down just to see turns. Since you want that executive vibe for the Vik Black, maybe look into 3M crystalline series at 40% or 50%. It keeps it classy without looking like a tuner car, and the heat rejection is actually better than most dark films. Plus, it won't get you pulled over! gl!

Yep, this is the way
