Hey everyone! I’ve been following the news on the Genesis GV90 pretty closely, and like many of you, I’m beyond excited for this flagship to finally hit the road. It looks like it’s going to be a total game-changer in the luxury EV space, potentially setting a new bar for what we expect from a full-sized electric SUV. I’m already planning my build and have been chatting with my local dealer about the reservation process, but it got me thinking about the post-purchase phase.

When you're dropping this kind of money on a top-tier vehicle, you really want to make sure you're protecting the investment from day one while also maximizing that 'executive' feel. I’ve owned a few luxury SUVs in the past, and I always regret not having my accessory list ready before the car actually arrives in my driveway.

I’m particularly curious about the interior. With the rumors of those high-end, ultra-luxurious captain's chairs and the potential for deep-pile carpeting, I'm already a bit stressed about keeping it pristine, especially with kids. Does anyone have leads on premium all-weather mats that don't look like cheap, clunky rubber? I want something that actually complements the refined aesthetic of a Genesis cabin.

Secondly, I’m looking at paint protection. If Genesis offers those stunning matte finishes like 'Magnesium Silver' or 'Brunswick Green,' I’m definitely going to need a specific PPF (Paint Protection Film) or a high-end ceramic coating that won't ruin the matte effect. Has anyone researched kits that are already being prototyped for the GV90's body lines?

Lastly, since this will be a massive EV, I’m considering the home charging setup. I’d love to find a Level 2 charger that looks as sleek as the car itself and integrates well with the Genesis Connected Services app.

I’ve spent a lot of time looking at generic SUV gear, but for a vehicle of this caliber, I feel like we need a more curated approach. For those of you planning to pull the trigger on a GV90, what are the first three accessories on your 'must-buy' list to really elevate the experience?

Basically, I went through this last year when I picked up my current luxury SUV, and honestly, the cost of "official" accessories can get pretty wild if you aren't careful. I used to be all about the OEM stuff, but I realized I was paying a 200% markup for a logo. For my interior, I skipped the clunky rubber mats and found that TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats are actually a lifesaver. They have this sleek, leather-like texture that matches a high-end cabin way better than the industrial-looking ones, and they're much easier on the wallet than dealer options.

Regarding the matte paint, I learned the hard way that you can't just wax it. I ended up DIY-ing a coat of Dr. Beasley's Matte Paint Coating which was way more cost-effective than a full stealth wrap, though it takes some patience. For charging, I've been using the Grizzl-E Classic Level 2 EV Charger 40 Amp because it's built like a tank and doesn't have the premium "tech tax" of the flashier brands. It works perfectly and is super reliable, which is what actually matters when you're just tryna get a charge overnight lol. gl with the build!!

Sooo, before you dive into the fun stuff, you gotta think about the electrical load of a beast like the GV90. It's likely using an 800V architecture, so thermal management during charging is HUGE. Basically, cheap setups can overheat your home panel if they aren't rated for continuous high-amperage draw. High-voltage safety is no joke.

Here’s what I recommend for safety and style:

* Interior: Check out 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Liners. They have a textured finish that looks high-end—not like those clunky rubber ones—but they're totally waterproof for the kids.
* Paint: I’d go with XPEL STEALTH Paint Protection Film. It’s a "self-healing" film that preserves the matte look while preventing rock chips and chemical etching.
* Charging: Honestly, I’d suggest the Wallbox Pulsar Plus 48 Amp EV Charger. Just make sure to HARDWIRE it instead of using a NEMA 14-50 plug to avoid melting outlets during those long overnight sessions.

Dont skimp on the electrical install... stay safe! gl!

sooo i've been geeked about the GV90 too even tho i'm kinda new to the luxury EV scene. basically, if ur dropping six figures, the tech specs for protection are super important. for those matte colors like 'Brunswick Green', u highkey need a 'stealth' film. i've heard great things about XPEL STEALTH Satin Finish Paint Protection Film cuz it keeps that flat look without making it shiny. as for the interior, i dont like the rubber look either, but i'm pretty sure TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats are what u want. they look way more like leather/fabric than plastic and cover like EVERYTHING. for charging, honestly ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 WiFi Enabled EV Charger is probably the move. it's sleek and the app integration is usually pretty solid with most connected services. i mean i'm still learning but i think protecting the matte paint is LITERALLY the most important step tbh!! gl with the reservation!

Basically, the GV90's high-voltage specs are intense. Unfortunately, I've had issues with standard Level 2 chargers failing. What's your home's total electrical capacity? Precision really matters for this technical setup.

@Reply #5 - good point! Honestly, I've been reading through all these suggestions for pro shops to do the work, but I've always been more of a hands-on guy myself. I've had great luck just doing my own ceramic coatings in the garage on my last few cars and it's super satisfying to see that water bead off knowing you did it yourself. But before you go dropping a few grand on a professional stealth wrap like everyone is suggesting, are you planning on keeping the car for the long haul or is this a shorter lease? And for the interior, are we talking muddy soccer cleats kids or just oops I dropped a cracker kids? Knowing the actual level of abuse the cabin is gonna take helps a lot because sometimes those heavy-duty mats are just overkill and kinda ruin the whole executive vibe youre going for... dont want to over-engineer it if you dont have to.
