Recommendations for a high-quality dash cam for Genesis G70?

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a new Genesis G70 and I’m absolutely in love with the interior, but that’s also why I’m feeling a bit stuck. I really want to install a high-quality dash cam for peace of mind, but I’m worried about ruining the clean look of the cabin or interfering with the advanced safety sensors near the rearview mirror.

I’ve been looking at options like the BlackVue DR970X or the Vantrue N4, but I’m not sure which one fits the G70’s aesthetic best. I definitely want something with 4K resolution and a solid parking mode, as I often have to park in busy public garages. Also, since the G70 has a relatively compact windshield, I’m concerned about finding a model that won't obstruct my view or look too bulky from the outside.

Has anyone here hardwired a dual-channel setup into their G70? I’m curious if there are any specific mounting brackets or 'OEM-style' housings that work well with the Genesis mirror cap. I’d love to hear what brands you guys are using and if you ran into any issues with the battery discharge or the tech suite. What would you recommend for a high-end setup that balances performance with a discreet install?

For a seamless "factory" look, the Fitcamx is the gold standard for G70 owners. It replaces the mirror housing, offering a stealthy, wire-free OEM look with sharp 4K recording.

For maximum clarity, the Viofo A229 Pro or BlackVue DR970X Plus are top-tier for night vision and reliability. Pro tip: use a Dongar power adapter to tap the mirror’s power source—it’ll save you the headache of routing cables through the A-pillar and headliner for a clean install.

Pro tip: Check out Fitcamx 4K Dash Cam for Genesis G70 if you're worried about the look. It replaces the OEM mirror cover so it literally looks factory-installed and wont mess with your view! Safety-wise, it's super reliable and safer for your battery than most hardwire kits since it draws less power. Plus, it's way more budget-friendly than a BlackVue, usually under $200. Idk if it has the best parking mode, but for a clean, safe install that wont void your warranty, it's honestly the best bet. Good luck!

But since you mentioned the battery discharge thing and long-term peace of mind, I really think the Thinkware U3000 is worth a look too. It has a built-in radar sensor for parking mode which is like, way better for our cars because it only wakes up the camera when it actually senses movement. It saves so much battery life compared to the standard motion detection stuff in other cams. Quick tips for a long-term setup:

  • Get a high-endurance SD card like the Samsung PRO Endurance
  • Make sure to format the card every few months to keep things running smooth I mean, I have had my G70 for over two years now and the biggest issue is usually the heat. Standard SD cards just fail or stop recording after a summer in the cabin. Honestly, picking the right card is just as important as the camera itself if you dont want it to glitch out when you actually need the footage.

Yo, congrats on the G70! Seriously such a sick interior. First things first—be careful with hardwiring directly to the fuse box because the Genesis tech suite is super sensitive to voltage drops... you definitely don't wanna end up with a "battery discharge" warning every morning or weird sensor glitches.

I'd basically compare two routes. You've got the big name 4K brands like BlackVue or Vantrue which give insane clarity, but they can look a bit "stuck on" if you aren't perfect with placement. Then you have those integrated "OEM-style" housings that replace the actual mirror cap—those are highkey the best for keeping that clean look, tho the software can be kinda hit or miss compared to the big guys.

Honestly, for a budget-friendly but pro look, check out a mirror tap. It's way cheaper than a full shop install and hides the wires perfectly. Just make sure to get a dedicated battery pack if ur serious about parking mode! gl!

Ok so, I've used BlackVue for years and it's AMAZING for the G70!

- Slim profile
- 4K clarity

Basically looks OEM. Definitely get a battery pack to save ur car battery. love it!
