im so hyped about finally picking up my GV70 Sport last week the red interior is honestly insane but omg i am already losing my mind with these flimsy carpet mats that came with it. its raining like crazy here in seattle and after two days the driver side is already a muddy mess and looks totally trashed. i tried some universal ones from costco just to hold me over but they fit like garbage and keep sliding under the pedals which is actually kinda dangerous and annoying.

so i was thinking about going with weathertech because thats what everyone says to get but my logic was that they look a bit too much like a work truck for such a sleek car right? i want something that actually matches the luxury vibe. ive been looking at:

  • tuxmat (look cool but maybe hard to clean?)
  • 3d maxpider (see them everywhere but do they last?)
  • weathertech (reliable but ugly?)

i need a full set including the trunk liner because i haul my golden retriever around and his hair gets woven into the factory carpet like its glued there and i just cant deal with that. my budget is around 350 for everything and i need to order them like tonight because we have a trip to the mountains coming up in ten days. has anyone actually tried the genesis brand premium liners or are they just a ripoff? i really want something that covers the sides too so i dont ruin the trim...

^ This. Also, you really gotta be cautious with those universal mats. If they are sliding under the pedals, thats a major safety hazard in a car like the GV70. I would suggest looking into 3D MAXpider Kagu Floor Mats Genesis GV70. They have a textured backing that grips the carpet without moving, and they dont have that work truck look you are worried about. For the dog hair and the mountain trip, might want to consider the Genesis GV70 Reversible Cargo Tray. It fits the trunk dimensions perfectly. Just make sure you double-check the mounting clips. If they dont click into the anchors properly, it can be dangerous. Better to be safe when youre driving through mountain passes. Also, watch out for liners without a high lip... you dont want melted snow leaking onto the red carpet. They are also much easier to spray down and dry than the ones with deep fabric grooves.

^ This. Also, unfortunately, I have had issues with some of these premium options that everyone recommends. While TuxMat gives you great coverage, the material is actually pretty soft and can get scuffed up by heavy boots really easily, which looks terrible in a high-end car like the GV70. And the 3D Maxpider ones? I have seen the heel pad area start to separate from the base layer after just a few seasons. It is super disappointing when you spend that much. So basically, the consensus here is that you need better coverage than factory but more style than a basic rubber mat. If you want a technical upgrade that doesnt look like a contractor van, check out the WeatherTech FloorLiner HP Custom Fit Floor Mats. They use a much better thermoplastic elastomer than the standard ones, so they dont curl at the edges or feel like hard plastic. They stay grippy even when soaked with Seattle rain and wont get brittle in the cold. For the golden retriever hair, a standard tray usually isnt enough because the hair just flies onto the seat backs anyway. You should really look into the Canvasback Custom Cargo Liner Genesis GV70. It is a technical poly-urethane coated fabric that velcros to the actual carpet. It covers everything including the sides and seat backs, so the hair just wipes off. It is way more effective than a tray for big dogs. Whatever you pick, just make sure the driver side mat actually locks onto the floor pins... sliding mats are no joke when you are driving through mountain passes.

  • I grabbed TuxMat Genesis GV70 Floor Mats for mine.
  • They saved my carpet when my dog tracked in mud last winter.
  • Way more practical than those factory liners.
