So I finally picked up my GV70 last week—went with the Mauna Red exterior and that gorgeous Sevilla Red interior. Im obsessed with how it looks but man I am already paranoid about getting it dirty since I live up in Seattle and the rain is basically a permanent resident here. I was looking at some floor mats because the ones it came with are honestly kinda flimsy for the price of the car. I saw a lot of people on the forums recommending TuxMat because they cover more of the side walls and look more integrated than WeatherTech but then I read a few reviews saying they can be a pain to get in and out if you spill something.
Also the center console is just like one giant black hole? I found those little plastic divider trays on Amazon for like twenty bucks but I dont want to put cheap looking plastic in a sixty thousand dollar car if there is a better option out there. I really want to keep the vibe classy but functional since I have a dog and we do a lot of hiking on the weekends. My budget is probably around $400 for some initial upgrades and I want to get it sorted before we head out on a long road trip down the coast in three weeks. What are the absolute must-have interior accessories you guys have actually used that dont ruin the luxury feel?
Congrats on the Mauna Red, that color is absolutely killer. In my experience, you should definitely skip the basic plastic liners and go straight for TuxMat Genesis GV70 Custom Floor Mats. I've tried many brands over the years and these are basically the gold standard for luxury cars. They cover almost all the carpet so you wont have to worry about Seattle mud ruining that Sevilla Red interior. They are a bit snug to install but once they are in, they look like part of the car's trim rather than an afterthought. About the console... honestly, just get the Vesul Center Console Organizer Tray for Genesis GV70. I know it feels weird putting a cheap plastic bit in a sixty thousand dollar ride, but you cant even see it when the lid is closed. It turns that giant hole into something actually organized. Use the rest of your budget on a good cargo liner if you're taking the dog hiking tho, since those red carpets are a nightmare to vacuum hair out of...
Man, you gotta protect that Sevilla Red from the dog! Muddy paws are a total nightmare on that leather. I found a few things that work amazing:
Congrats on the GV70! Honestly, that Sevilla Red is a masterpiece. I'm a bit of a stickler for keeping things mint, especially with the tech in this car. One thing people usually forget is that massive 14.5 inch screen. Since you're worried about keeping it clean, I've been really satisfied with a tempered glass protector. It cuts down on fingerprints big time and protects from accidental scratches if you're tossing hiking gear around the cabin. For the dog and the weekend trips, here are two things that have worked well for me:
