I just picked up my new GV70 and want to keep that gorgeous interior pristine! I'm definitely looking for high-quality all-weather mats and maybe a screen protector for the massive display. Does anyone have recommendations for a good center console organizer or seat back protectors? What are your absolute must-have interior accessories?
So, congrats on the GV70! Honestly, keeping that interior safe is a priority. I've seen cheap accessories actually cause issues over the years, like screen protectors that increase glare or trays that rattle and distract you while driving. **TL;DR: Spend a bit more on tempered glass for the screen and a snug console tray to avoid distractions.** For the display, compare the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Genesis GV70 14.5-inch Display vs a basic PET film. Ngl, the Spigen is the clear winner because it handles glare way better. Basic films are a safety hazard imo because they reflect light right into ur eyes and peel off over time. Regarding organizers, I recommend the Vesul Center Console Organizer Tray for Genesis GV70 over the CDEFG Center Console Storage Box for Genesis GV70. The Vesul fits like a glove, while the CDEFG can shift around. Also, for the seats, check out Lusso Gear Car Seat Back Protectors... they're super thick and actually protect the leather from scuffs. Better safe than sorry, right? gl!
Respectfully, I'd consider another option cuz those expensive OEM liners were unfortunately a total letdown regarding dead pedal coverage. Grab TuxMat Genesis GV70 All-Weather Floor Mats for way better value and protection imo.
In my experience, you definitely gotta get a console tray. but what's your budget for mats? looking for maximum protection or something that keeps the luxury look? gotta be careful with fitment!!
Honestly, I've been doing a deep dive into the market specs lately and it’s kinda overwhelming... I spent hours comparing the material data sheets for different aftermarket brands and noticed a few things you might want to watch out for before buying anything!!! - Material Off-gassing: Some of those cheaper TPE plastics have a really high VOC rating. I bought a set once that made the cabin smell like a chemical factory for weeks... basically ended up leaving a weird oily film on the inside of my windshield.
- Precision Tolerances: When you're looking at different manufacturers, look for their "fitment deviation" specs. I've seen some brands with a +/- 5mm gap which is huge for a luxury interior like the GV70. It just looks messy and gaps catch all the dirt anyway.
- Shore Hardness: This is basically how "squishy" or hard the mats or trays are. If the material density is too low, it tends to warp in the sun... found that out the hard way with my last car when the edges started curling in. tbh I'm still trying to figure out if the different market regions (like Korean vs North American specs) have different center console dimensions? I'm worried about buying something that says it fits but is actually for a slightly different trim... anyone know???
