I recently treated myself to a 2022 Genesis G90, and I am absolutely blown away by the quality of the Nappa leather interior. However, I’m starting to get a little paranoid about daily wear and tear. I really want to preserve that showroom look, especially since I occasionally have my kids in the back seat, but I’m terrified of putting on some bulky, cheap-looking covers that ruin the executive vibe of the cabin.

I’ve been doing some research, but it’s tough to find options that are specifically tailored for the G90’s unique seat dimensions. My biggest concern is finding something that won't interfere with the seat heating and ventilation features—that’s a total dealbreaker for me. I’m looking for a premium, custom-fit set that looks almost like the original upholstery. I've looked at some neoprene and leatherette options, but I’m worried about the fitment around the side airbags and the rear armrest controls.

Does anyone have experience with a specific brand that offers a truly "glove-like" fit for the G90? I’m willing to spend around $500 for a high-quality set if they actually stay in place and don't slide around. Which brands or materials would you recommend for maintaining that luxury feel while providing maximum protection?

Honestly, safety is everything when you're messing with luxury seats. I've seen way too many cheap covers that literally block the side airbags—not worth the risk!!

* **Go with custom leatherette** from a brand like EKR. They're basically built with safety seams so the bags actually deploy.
* **Stick to high-end brands** that guarantee ventilation compatibility.

In my experience, you gotta prioritize that airbag-safe tag over anything else. Peace!

Seconding the recommendation above! Definitely gotta know if you have the executive package cuz that changes everything fitment-wise. Tbh, if you're looking for that budget-friendly sweet spot under $500, I'd check out FH Group Neosupreme Custom Seat Covers or even Wet Okole Neoprene Custom Seat Covers. They're way cheaper than a full interior swap but still feel really nice and don't mess with the heating/ventilation as much as thick leatherette does. Just my two cents from years of trial and error!! gl

Hey, congrats on the G90! Honestly, I totally feel u on the paranoia. I have been driving Genesis sedans for over 6 years now and when I got my 2022, I was terrified of my kids ruining that Nappa leather with juice boxes or whatever.

So basically, here is the deal with the G90. Because of the crazy seat contours and the side airbags, generic covers are a total disaster. I actually had a really bad experience with a set of "universal" leatherette covers early on that slid around so much it actually scuffed my trim... it was super frustrating and not as good as expected at all.

For your situation, here is what I recommend based on my trial and error:

1. Coverking Leatherette Custom Seat Covers are the way to go if ur looking for that glove-like fit. They use 3D scanning so they actually wrap around the G90's unique bolsters and dont look like a baggy mess.
2. The main reason I like these is the perforated inserts. Highkey, if u get solid covers, ur ventilation is gonna be useless, but these actually let the air flow through so u wont sweat through ur shirt lol.
3. Make sure u look for the "Airbag Compatible" stitch. Coverking and Katzkin Custom Leather Interior (if u want a full reupholster, tho that is way over $500) are the only ones I trust with the side impact sensors.

I mean, $500 is a bit tight for a full set of custom genuine leather, but the high-end leatherette honestly looks so close to the original Nappa that most people wont even notice. Just take ur time with the install... it is a pain but worth it to keep that executive vibe! gl!

Quick question - does your 2022 G90 have the executive rear seat package with the center console controls, or is it the standard bench setup? Basically, the fitment around those buttons is super tricky and honestly, some brands say they fit but then they end up blocking the knobs or the ventilation fans under the seat.

Before I give full advice, it is worth looking into FH Group Ultra Comfort Leatherette Seat Covers. They're decent for the price, but since you're worried about the Nappa leather, you gotta be careful with the backing material. Some cheap ones can actually bleed dye or scratch the leather if they slide around too much!! Since you mentioned a $500 budget, you might also wanna check out Clazzio Custom Leather Seat Covers. I think they're better than the ones mentioned before because they use memory foam which helps with that "glove-like" fit you're looking for. Anyway, let me know about the rear console so I can see what works best with the ventilation. gl!

Jumping in here... @Reply #4 - good point! Honestly, in my experience, the biggest trap people fall into with the G90 is forgetting how sensitive those seat sensors are. If you get something too thick, it totally messes with the occupancy sensors for the airbags or just kills the ventilated seat feel entirely. Ive tried many different setups over the years and the one thing I always tell people to avoid is anything with a cheap PVC or rubberized backing. The heat from your seat warmers can actually cause that stuff to off-gas or even stick to the Nappa leather if it gets hot enough. Talk about a nightmare... you try to protect the seats and end up staining them forever. Also, pay attention to how the covers actually anchor down. If they use those generic metal hooks that just dangle, they'll eventually scratch the plastic trim or the seat rails. Just a heads up because preserving that luxury vibe is way harder than it looks once you start adding layers tho.
