So I finally picked up a G70 3.3T and the stock power is okay but I want more of that kick in the pants feeling. Im stuck between getting the JB4 tuner or biting the bullet on a LAP3 tune. JB4 seems easier to install and way cheaper but people say LAP3 feels more like factory power delivery
My situation:
Is the JB4 actually enough or am I gonna regret not getting the more expensive one... maybe I should just get an intake first?
Re: "Regarding what #1 said about "Go with Burger,..." - definitely agree. The JB4 is basically the gold standard for these cars. Spent years messing with GDI platforms and the biggest reliability threat in high heat is actually carbon buildup and oil thinning from increased crankcase pressure. Since you're dailying this in Florida, you gotta think about long-term protection:
Regarding what #1 said about "Go with Burger, you cant go wrong with..."
Go with Burger, you cant go wrong with their tuner. It basically depends on your needs, but its way easier to manage for a daily driver than a full ECU swap. Honestly, since you are in Florida, heat soak is gonna be your biggest enemy. I would just get an intercooler from BMS first to keep things safe tho... that heat is no joke.
Re: "Go with Burger, you cant go wrong with..." - i'm a huge fan of this approach for a daily. Been running the Burger Motorsports JB4 Tuner for Genesis G70 3.3T for over a year and honestly its been perfectly reliable. Since youre in Florida tho, you gotta prioritize cooling. The stock intercooler is basically a paperweight in that heat. If you go with the more expensive LAP3, you wont have money left for the hardware that actually keeps the engine safe. My suggested build for $1500:
