I finally took delivery of my new Canyon AT4X last week, and I’m absolutely loving the factory setup, especially those Multimatic DSSV shocks! However, I’m planning some more technical rock crawling and weekend overlanding trips soon, so I want to beef it up a bit. I’m specifically looking for high-quality rock sliders that offer real protection and maybe a low-profile bed rack that doesn’t catch too much wind on the highway. I’ve seen a few brands, but I’m worried about fitment issues with the new body style. For those of you who actually wheel your Canyon, what are the top three 'must-have' off-road accessories you'd recommend starting with?
hey, just caught this thread! technical crawling changes the math a bit. for your at4x, here's what i suggest: 1. Sliders: Rocky Road Outfitters Kicker Rock Sliders vs 589 Fabrication Rock Sliders. RRO is basically indestructible for heavy slams, but 589 gives better breakover clearance tbh.
2. Rack: BillieBars GMC Canyon Bed Bars vs Leitner Designs ACS Forged Bed Rack. BillieBars are stealthy for highway MPG, but Leitner offers way more utility for gear.
3. Protection: AEV GMC Canyon Rear Differential Cover. Cheers!
Oh man, I LOVE the AT4X!! In my experience, here's what I recommend: 1. White Knuckle Off Road Rock Sliders vs CBI Offroad Rock Sliders. White Knuckle is BEEFY with 0.188" wall tubing, but CBI has better clearance tbh.
2. Victory 4x4 GMC Canyon Mid Height Bed Rack is AMAZING for low drag! Basically no wind noise. Anyway, I think those are ur best bet for technical crawling. gl!
