Any must-have accessories for 2025 Honda Pilot?

Just picked up a 2025 Honda Pilot (Touring) and I’m trying to figure out which accessories are actually worth buying vs. stuff that’s basically fluff. I’ve already noticed the interior gets dirty fast with kids and weekend trips, so I’m leaning toward all-weather floor mats and maybe a cargo liner, but I’m not sure which brands fit the best without sliding around.

I also do a lot of highway driving and occasional light towing, so I’m curious about practical add-ons like a tow hitch setup (if it didn’t come factory), mud guards, and maybe some kind of door edge/handle protection to prevent chips and scratches. I’ve seen people recommend seat-back protectors for the second/third row too, but I don’t know if they actually stay put.

Budget is around $300–$600 to start, and I’d prefer accessories that don’t look cheap or require sketchy installs.

For other 2025 Pilot owners: what are your must-have accessories (OEM or aftermarket), and which ones did you regret buying?

Ok so, safety/reliability-first: the stuff that actually “sticks” and doesn’t become a distraction matters way more than people think. On my last couple family SUVs, the biggest win was doing the mess-defense first (floor + cargo) *and* making sure it locks into the factory retention points… if it slides under pedals or bunches up, thats a legit safety issue.

For towing, I learned the hard way to treat hitch + wiring like a “systems” job, not a bolt-on toy. I went with a proper receiver + wiring that plugs in clean (no sketchy splices), then tested lights and did a re-torque after a few hundred miles. Mud guards/door edge/handle film were boring but honestly saved paint. Seat-back protectors? The ones I tried kinda sagged and annoyed me, so I ditched em. good luck!

Quick question—are you towing often enough to justify the full hitch+wiring now, and do you have captains chairs or a bench? For mats/liner, Husky or 3D MAXpider usually fit tighter/less slidey; for protection, XPEL door-cup/edge film is clean + not sketchy.

- Quick question: are you towing a small utility trailer or like a 3,500–5,000 lb camper, and is your Pilot already pre-wired?
- My story: I started with “kid mess defense” (mats + cargo) and it was the best $$ spend… then I cheaped out on random seat-back covers and they slid around constantly, drove me nuts.
- Value-wise, I’d split budget: interior protection first, hitch stuff second, cosmetic protection last (chips happen). What’s your towing frequency?

Heads up: avoid cheap clip-on tow hitches/unknown wiring—CAN mess with CAN-bus! I’d do TuxMat or WeatherTech + cargo liner first, then mud guards/PPF door cups; skip loose seat-back protectors—they slide, realy.

Hey, been there. First week with my Pilot I was like… how is there sand *everywhere* already?? For your budget, I’d do mats/liner first: Honda Genuine Accessories All-Season Floor Mats for 2023-2025 Honda Pilot fit PERFECT and dont creep. If you want aftermarket, WeatherTech FloorLiner for 2023-2025 Honda Pilot 1st and 2nd Row is $$$ but amazing.

Cargo: Honda Genuine Accessories Cargo Tray for 2023-2025 Honda Pilot is solid and doesn’t look cheap.

Towing: go OEM hitch if you can—Honda Genuine Accessories Trailer Hitch Kit for 2023-2025 Honda Pilot is clean, proper mounting, no sketchy stuff.

Lesson learned: I skipped door cup film… regret. Kids nails are brutal lol

Honestly, I've been wrenching on my own SUVs for years and the 2025 Pilot is an amazing platform! If you're going DIY, I'd definitely look into doing your own ceramic coating on the front end to help with those highway bugs. I think I heard somewhere that the factory paint on these newer models can be a bit thin, so extra protection is a must. Few things I'd grab:

  • Hardwired dash cam (total game changer for insurance)
  • Tempered glass screen protector for the infotainment
  • High-quality spray-on fabric guard for the third row Not sure if the towing harness install is still a total pain on the 2025s, but IIRC the older ones required pulling a lot of trim panels... definitely worth doing yourself tho if you have the tools! Love the new ride, you're gonna have a blast with it!
