Honestly so fed up with how easily this red carpet gets dirty like I've only had my FL5 for two weeks here in rainy Seattle and it's already looking rough. My logic was to just get the OEM high wall mats but I heard they still leave gaps and now I'm just stressing.
I'm looking to spend around $500 to bulletproof this interior before winter hits cuz I'm terrified of ruining these seats with my work jeans. I was thinking maybe TuxMats or those specific seat protectors?
Does anyone have a setup that actually works for a daily driver...
Regarding what #2 said about 'I've spent a huge amount of time researching...', unfortunately, expensive coatings often fail with heavy denim use. I had issues with staining on my last car even after spending $200 on protection... total waste of money imo. Quick tips for safety:
I've spent a huge amount of time researching this for my own build and found some fantastic high-end alternatives. Since you want to bulletproof the interior, you should look at a tiered approach that includes both hardware and chemical protection.
I went through this exact stress last winter. The red carpet is a magnet for mud. I skipped the OEM stuff and got TuxMat Honda Civic FL5 All-Weather Floor Mats because the coverage is insane compared to Honda's mats. Also, get some DreamStick Seat Bolster Protectors right away. I saw wear on my bolsters within weeks from my work jeans, and those covers stopped it completely.
> I'm looking to spend around $500 to bulletproof this interior @Reply #3 - good point! Denim transfer is impossible to stop with just sprays. Looking at the thread, high-coverage mats and physical barriers are the only real solution. If the other brands are too expensive, SMARTLINER Custom Fit Floor Mats Honda Civic 11th Gen provide excellent carpet protection for the money. Also, get some Lamin-x Door Sill Guard Film to prevent boot scuffs... this combo keeps things clean without breaking the bank.
